WA Sp45

The US advances in the Pacific, the Bonin Islands conquered will now serve as good advance position. The US submarine skippers have blockaded Japan. In Alamo Gordo first A-bomb tested succesfully.

quote:

As next turn is Summer 1945 and the A-Bomb is not yet ready it should mean surrendering in Fall 1945 only and so it would be an Allied Substantive victory. Guess it's not that bad afterall.

Bty I got the video in which Japan surrenders but not the Victory Screen.

The WA are really in no position to challenge the red army, will see what happens.

Anyway it's been really a hard game for the WA and I'm surprised I have come this far, first it was Tim (Tica) who had me on the verge of disaster, had he bombed that factory in Scotland the world would be all grey and red. Afterwards I got lucky against Philippe and sunk his carriers in Hawai, The Pacific was conquered without oposition since Germany had to fall first, but he counter attacked performing extraordinary well, to my dismay. Only the A-bomb has saved the WA from losing the game, if I had to invade Japan I would have never made it.

Though it's not over yet Congratulations Tim and Philippe for an extraordinary well played game.

Rafael

Turn sent to Philippe

Summer 1945:

Japan:

Sad moment for civilization. The cowardly Imperialist powers have hidden their military failure by enslaving mother nature power. Beware what doom they can bring on us all.

In the meantime some companies called Nintendo, Sony,... are developping new wood games but we have visions... that it won't last long and we could build Russian tanks soon

WA Su45

Oh well this has finally come to an end, must be one of the longest games I've ever held, it started back in july 30th 2007 and finished today january 7th 08.

This turn was used for redeploment but when clicking yes to continue onto world war 3, I got command of the USSR troops, I just saved and sent to A511 but to my dismay I think he might win in a single blow since I positioned all my troops in W France, and the USSR was up to 26 points, I think that's the threshold and no way there's a chance to recapture all the takes he's going to make in this turn , it would have been interesting to know if I could still beat the soviets.

Anyway thanks for a hell of a game to Tim, Philippe and Anthony.
Here are some screenshots

Tim I think you made your post in the wrong thread, in this game you were knock out in 1943/4 ? playing as Germany.

The game you're reporting must be the one against Dahnyul and Kondor (Axis) and Pholonti and you as Allies.

Regards

Good Job guys, excellent aar reading.
I have just tallied up the AAR points.
I am allowing all players to miss 1 post before penalties are applied.
If I made any mistakes let me know.

WWII Allies Marginal Victory Allies +30 Axis +10

A511 4 x .25 = 1 missed Fa44 wi43 (0) = 1
RJH1972 18 x .25 = 4.5 missed none (0) = 4.5

Tica 9 x .25 = 2.25 missed fa42,wi43,su43 (-2) = .25
Polonthi 23 x .25 = 5.75 Missed su39 (0) = 5.75

finally, i have made the Wi46 move under the WWIII ...

i have done what i could to win by the first punch, and the RUS got sth like 30 VCs b4 the allies counterattack. its most unlucky for the allies to counterattack in a Wi turn ...

Here are your wishes come true , I have the honour to be the first to lose the war against USSR as WA .

Anthony had reached 31 VP, he took Norway, Denmark, TLC, Italy and all France But the Western region where I had placed my army. Turkey was also in his hands same as Greece. So it was an impossible task to retake 7 Vp and put him under the 26 (iirc) vp threshold.
He had a larger army and better technology.
Still I wonder if we continued playing would he have been able to defeat the WA, I doubt it once they got their factories at full production and properly supplied with resources the tide would have turned.

Anyway this was a great game where everyone had their share of glory and desparation.
Thanks Tim, Philippe and Anthony for a great game.

winning the WWIII is definitely not sth my effort alone can achieve. u really need a strong JP player like Polonthi to give the US Pacific Fleet a very tough time and RJH to hold the GER at Scotland long enough to give the Red Army a easy task to go straight to Berlin and build the Red Army for 2 whole years.

Good game!!

In fact I was hoping that the fear to loose WW3 by letting Russia take over India and other minor countries in Europe would distract Rafael from his push through the Pacific to Japan and maybe winning me one or 2 more turn of survival.

At the end he didn't and we lost as Axis but he lost WW3.

Now I believe the killing factor was a first WW3 turn during Winter which prevent any amphibious invasion and therefore the easy way to get back a few VP to deny Russia AV.

WOW!
Never really expected to see SU win the WWIII

Now for WWIII Score:
Rules:
quote:

That's right, this tourney continues on to the EAST vs WEST SCENARIO if the Allies cause the Axis to surrender before the end Date.
(Edit July28 2007) Due to the unbalanced nature of a wwIII continuation game I have cut the East West points in half

Points for East vs West
- Decisive Victory: +15
- Substantive Victory: +10
- Marginal Victory: +7.5
- Draw: +5
- Marginal Defeat: +2.5
- Substantive Defeat: 0
- Decisive Defeat: -5
Edit Dec 24, 2007: Scoreing Change
SU players who reach East vs West will gain +5 points at completion of east East vs West game.
This is because of the severe unballanced nature of East vs West I dont want to see any SU players score negetive points.

That gives winning SU side 20 pts (DV15 +5)
Defeated WA gets -5
