ki30, ki51---ki32---ki48---ki21,ki49,ki67
starting from 41, all DBs can be changed into LB.

As long as you keep a small squadron ki32 and a small square ki48, the pathway is open for DB to LB, or LB to DB.

Into deadly later 44, as ki102a, ki46IIIKAI, and Ki84Ia appear.
ki21,ki49,ki67---ki48---ki102a---Ki46IIIKAI---Ki84Ia---Ki84Ic
If the small Ki48 squadron is still kept, All LB can be change into Ki84Ia fighter.

All the rookie fighter squadrons can also be changed into LB to run ASW for gaining exp savely.

Ki45KAIb---Ki102a---Ki46IIIKAI---Ki84Ia---Ki84Ic
Even the few FB squares can also change into Ki84Ia.

So, at the beginning of 45, all the IJA DB, LB, FB and F squadrons are all equipped with Ki84Ia or Ki84Ic to defend every air battle field.

Don't think that fighter squadrons can become land bombers (though not 100% sure). Some upgrades only work in one direction.
