WA Winter 42

Sub hunting went very poorly this winter. Rolled many 1s and 2s.
Bombers could not seem to hit any targets coverd by snow either.

Japan is certainly poised to initiate a attack soon, looking like they have there eyes set on the SPs in the South Pacific.

Finland and Norway may see some action in the spring, Germany has taken some of its East front troops and diverted them to Finland. Good news for our Soviet Friends.

Germany Spr'42

The Wehrmacht once again takes the offensive, pushing back into Kharkov and Smolensk. 7 Uboats see action against the Wallies. Once again forgot to snap a SS

Spring 1942 - Japan plays secret games...

I had an issue while opening the file I got from Sandeman. There was no replay, the VCR was blank. If you have the same problem I do not know if Sandeman should replay his turn or we are playing on a crashed file. Turn as is sent to GKar.

That shouldn't be a problem, I've seen it happen every now and then and I don't think it is related to savegames. I think the chance for it to happen is higher when you do something else before watching the replay. Whenever it happens, quitting and restarting the whole application usually helps.

Read: Save, exit AWD, restart AWD, reload the savegame and the VCR thing should be back.

I get this bug quite a bit, my Spr'41 screenshot in this thread has it. If that's what yours looks like, it is possible to hit play by clicking on the upper-left corner near where the button is supposed to be.

It was exactly as in the Spr. 1941 post, and after I started the game with a new downloaded copy of the file it worked well... Before I had the problem I just started AWD and loaded the save file, nothing else. Even leaving the saved game and reloading it did not change the situation.

Anyway, as this seems not to be a big deal I guess GKar you can just play on with the file you received yesterday.

Save & reload alone doesn't change anything, you have to quit AWD and restart it. Anyway, I'll play on with the savegame.

Springtime 1942 Western Allies Turn

Japan still has not initiated hostilities vs USA although they have strong Carrier presence close to Hawaii.
5 Carriers revealed and 2 more in production.

I was surprised there was no fighting in Norway on the German turn, maybe they ran out of supplies last turn?
Germany set out with a strong U-boat presence last turn. 7 Uboat fleets prowling the atlanctic and the Med.
With our new fangled ASW toys we went out and trained the crews on how to defeat the evil people that pray on defenseless cargo ships. See Screen Shot

German air raids have mixed success over SU. Sub action is minimal considering the Wallies success last turn... Kursk is fortified to force the Russians into a tough decision...

Japan Summer 1942 - time has come to launch the attack on PH, with good results (3 BBs and 2 DDs sunk w/o CAG losses). The greater part of the DEI was invaded, with Singapore putting up a stiff resistance and damaging the Jap. Airborne. SNLF troops finished the job there. Midway was taken as part of the PH operations.
Overall, 14 transports were sunk or damaged all over the Pacific, WA still have 40 left. No promotions for our Navy though . It should be noted that WA have 10 Carriers ready, but only 8 CAG's at the moment. As most WA Carriers (up to 7?) seem to be at the US East coast, this gives Japan 1-2 turns to solidify its position. 2 CV's were in San Francisco Harbour, but heavily protected by 5 Fighters, while another was seen cruising off the Western Coast of India.

WA Summer 42

A fairly well prepared USA has Joined WWII!
Shuffled many units all over the Globe.
Did some more ASW in the Atlantic and Indian Ocean.
Sent SU some Lend Lease.

Upgraded our Infantry and Armor.
Time to roll up our sleeves and clean up the mess the Axis have forced upon the world.

Well let's follow up that cauldron battle with another...

This one had a 75% chance to take Moscow, BUT that would have easily been 90+% had Gkar not destroyed all of my kursk arty units (and thus no combined arms for me) Naturally, luck is not with us here as the commies put up a stand much like their E.Poland group last year...

Japan Fall 1942 - The Asian prosperity zone has been expanded to Hawaii, but the Allied have a strong presence in that area already. 7 CVs were seen in San Francisco Harbour, taking CAG's on board. The last ships fleeing Pearl Harbour were bombed numerous times, but due to the rules they only can be damaged. A rule in need of a fix...? The Japanese CAG pilots for that matter thought "Who cares about the rules" and earned themselves a couple of medals.

WA Fall42

The WA have surrounded Jp occupied Hawaii.
A carrier strike vs a Japanees Naval group has not gone as well as planned. 50% of the Green CAG pilots sent in targeted the same light fleet allowing a HF and some transports to escape. One carrier air group was damaged by a transport rolling auto hit.

Finland was abandoned by Jerry this Fall.
A new democratic government is being hashed out for this misguided region.

Portugal has joined the Allies and I kind of feel bad accepting them as it creates such an easy route for us to put a major hurt on the Axis. Such is war I guess.

Interior bombing of Czech airfields yeilds verry good results.

WA Spring43

Spain had decided to side with the good guys.
That should take some pressure off Russia.
Materials shipped to Soviets.
JP Resources bombed.

Hawian Flak Gunners take down 2 more allied CAGs
Quite unbeliveable, and I tempted fate by sending 2 more into the death trap...

These two were vets and they acomplished there mission by destroying every JP vessel in OUR Harbor!
Well, it will be our harbor again someday.

Hawian Artilly is destroyed.
Again the Flack on Hawaii takes down more aircraft.
At least the mission was accomplished and a HF even earned a star.

My spies reveal JP has/had 10 fighters and 5 more in the build cue.

Indian HB crews destroy more resources in JP Controlled Territory.
We notice a huge armada of fighters/HBs and tacs stationed in W. Germany with HB up to range5.
Southern Frnace has been liberated at the cost of Uraguay leaning to the Axis camp.

Finland troops have been re-asigned to other areas.
Resource destroyed in HB raid over Austria.
