To be clear I don't care how old or new the music is - I just want to hear something that floats my boat that's new to me.

Apart from the Faded song I mentioned recently there has been nothing new for a while - and that is a rubbish state of affairs

Robert, iTunes is a treasure trove of ALL music & they have 30 to 90 seconds (I think) of audio clips for each song (title)...

OK. Not new.

A little Bluegrass from the Sunny South.

Drink Up And Go Home

Southern Soul

Down In Mississippi

Little Feat recorded in a BBC show. I wish I could find a HD version of this particular recording because its the best version. Love the block and cowbell.

Fat Man In The Bathtub

And since I love British Rock so much here is one from Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) first solo album, which, like The Wall, was a concept album. It featured Eric Clapton on guitar and David Sanborn on the horns. A severely underrated album.

Different, but I enjoyed it. At first I thought it might be an Emmylou Harris song.

I enjoyed it immensely. They have made a greater contribution to the advancement of country music then our American performers who decided to interject rock music (speeding up tempo). From my perspective made present country somewhat unlistenable.

High level performers, also watched the keyboard player video, just incredible talents.

I meant her voice was different. I agree. Todays country mostly sucks. A bunch of Hick Hop garbage where as long as they mention pickup trucks and drinking they think it's country. Sounds like rap. And you can't spell crap without rap.

But country has always had a rock and blues influence to it. Rock came from country and blues ala rockabilly. Now it is rap and therefore crap.

Was not making a negative comment on your point. We are in-sink with our view od present day country. And I agree with rock influencing country and country influencing rock. They always seemed to compliment each other. Its many present day songs seems forced and the creation comes out a Frankenstein.

Indeed! However, seems to me searching a replacement for Emerson is not an easy task.

Okay peeps, if you were to get together a playlist of "Summer" songs, what would you include?

Edit: songs with summer in the title, songs that have a summer feel or that simply remind you of the summer

Chris Rea - 'All Summer Long'...."summer in the title, songs that have a summer feel or that simply remind you of the summer"...all 3:)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp357-zggaE

Completely love this song!!!

---

Music you might not be familiar with Gary Numan's most recent album - Splinter (released 2013) - made it into top 20 UK albums! Slightly biased, but is completely awesome!

Here's one of the most popular tracks from the album, 'We Are Dust':-

----

Also, new take on an old classic Numan Song...'Are Friends Electric':-
