The Sarge likes it traditional. The Sarge likes it plain. The Sarge likes his 60-80's commercial garbage. The Sarge does NOT listen to England vs. whatever on the telly, caus The Sarge IS busy listening to the All-Eskimo League Curling Championship featuring Kuujuaq Killers vs. Nunavut Nincompoops. Plenty of blood and fish entrails. The Sarge likes THAT.

OK sorry, my evil brother took command temporarily. I had him banished, and profoundly apologize for any discomfiture the previous post might have caused. ( Ther IS no Eskimo Curling League, whatever)
But I still like old school rock...

For me, it changes day to day. At this very second, it's the immortal Pavarotti performing "Nessun Dorma". Next, who knows? It could be the Rolling Stones, or Wagner, or Devo. It's whatever fits the moment.

I know you're the Sarge, but I'm a Sarge too...However, I promise not to use the rank in the future. ( unless someone specifically asks me about it, yes? )
ps: what's wrong with blood and fish entrails? Never mind, don't need an answer.

Since I am on AOL, I get XM for free, and I have it running in the background when I play most of my WWII era games, or when on the forum, "the 40's channel"(for the era)..

I also get XM free with Directv, so it might be playing the same music in the rest of the house,if the wife is listening to it.

It's been a lot of Amy Winehouse and Ryan Adams this week. Currently, though, I've got the streaming feed from Indie 103.1 going...unfortunately, they are currently playing Death Cab for Cutie, who I don't enjoy. Oh...and now it's Beastie Boys. Time to listen to something else.

Well, right now, The High Kings, an Irish folk group, a Public Broadcasting special.

This morning I was listening to Tim Janis.

By my CD right now:
Tim Janis
Annie Moses Band
Mozart
Brandenburg Concertos - the pinnacle of Western music in my opinion
Eva Cassidy
Sade
Allison Krauss
Loreena McKinnett
Evanescence

I like a lot of things though, just about everything except rap.  Sorry about that.

Placed an order for Music with Amazon today:

Pearl Jam - Vitalogy
Humble Pie - Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore
Stone Temple Pilots - Core
Eric Clapton - Unplugged
Nirvana - MTV Unplugged in NY
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd
The Marshall Tucker Band - The Marshall Tucker Band
The Outfield - Play Deep

If anyone is curious as to why some of this stuff is so old, blame it on the move, decades ago, from vinyl to CD.

It's not reflected above, but my current "love interest" in the musical realm is a gal named Neko Case:

Right now, I'm listening to some newer stuff from some older bands:

Scorpions - Humanity Hour I

Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death

Velvet Revolver - Libertad

Cheap Trick - Rockford

I also have a few oldies at hand for more quite times:

ELO - Time

The Moody Blues - Say It With Love

The Beatles - whatever disc I grab

Next week, I'll likely be playing something else like U2, Def Leppard, Alice In Chains, Evanescence, or Tchaikovsky.

I just got and am listening to Juanes - "La vida es un ratico" and "Mi sangre"

I don't understand so much Spanish, but it sounds great.

He was interviewed on BBC World Service a few weeks ago, and came across as a great guy, as well.
