Kiki Dee Band - I got the Music in me

That was amazing. Never heard of her before and the band was awesome. I liked the comment at the top of the page, 'half a century of american idol couldn't find this kind of talent'.

As a software engineer, I have difficulty listening to old Frank without laughing. Parse what he is actually saying. How does he maintain a straight face? Frank Sinatra was a true Meistersinger!

Absolutely beautiful. I had forgotten about her-thanks.

Its funny in how those long haired freaks look positively civilized (and straight) compared with many modern "artists". My- how times have changed.

Right here. My mum still believes this should be our national anthem. It's far brighter than 'Flower of Scotland'. I'm kind of on the fence myself.

Scot/Irish/Dutch mix for me...
Here's one for the forum ladies.
Lou Christie - I'm gonna make you mine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TluHF80wMs

EDIT
Here's an interesting song, which I recall hearing as a child. Even for those who are non-religious, the tune is memorable. Just TRY to find a song called "He" with only the melody and a few words vaguely recalled...

Al Hibbler - He
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_Wi5vgTe7Y

I was listening to the following selection, and composed the first verse of a male chauvinist pig reply for :
Helen Reddy - I am woman

http://www.youtube.com/user/ClayLC2?feature=mhum#p/f/69/MUBnxqEVKlk

You are Wo-man, please don't snore.
Please get up, DO an-oth-er chore,
dishes are - dirty, if you need proof.

Though you heard, you didn't heed,
since you thought "There is no need",
now the messes are piled up to the roof!

Oh yes, you got smart,
but a far too slothful start.
Oh yes, you got your price,
which was a poor bar-gain.
Now you have to work on everything!

You are strong? Hah!
And not a pushover?
You are Funny!

-------------------------------
Edit 2 - a half hour yielded a second verse -

Please yourself if you prefer,
please don't choke on your reefer,
when the smoke gets really thick in here.

Or I'll light your fire within,
and you can do chores with a grin,
just so long as I have my cans of beer.

Oh yes, please recall
leaves need raking in the fall.
Oh yes, another thing
while you're wearing my ring
You will have to take out the garbage too…

You are Bored? No?
You are laughing too?
You're a woman...

--------------------------
Edit 3

On days you earn a paycheck,
I will surely kiss your neck
and take some beer cash as my fair share.

For we must share everything
so long as I have your ring,
and COULD you do something with your hair?

Oh yes, clean the rug.
'Cause I just squashed a bug.
Oh yes, clean the tub,
when that's done I want a back rub.
For today was long and exhausting.

I am tired, tired.
I am hungry too.
Where's my supper?

---------------------------
Edit 4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx-oR-FaDnQ&NR=1

That girl can sing - give her five more years and she might be worth marrying. LOLOLOL...

The selection below is for any guy unwise enough to sing the post above to his wife. LOL...

The Partridge Family - Breaking up is hard to do
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AimhwlehV0

Edit :

Upon consideration, I realized that like Robert Blake in "Electra Glide in Blue", I was standing knee deep in ****, perhaps about to fall flat and get a faceful of recriminations. So here is my apology, sort of…

All you women, COULD still roar
when you're asked to do a chore.
For you already do the lion's share.

When your husband is not nice,
then you COULD raise your price,
demanding extra special loving care.

Oh yes, he's a bum.
and thinks you are somewhat dumb.
Oh yes, there is no chore,
that does not demand more.
When really tired, do not do ANYTHING.

Think positive!
There's a good motive,
to uplift you…

If you're bent and almost broken,
and tired of prodding and pokin',
then you might well want to consider…

That snarls and screams are unwise,
and win only a booby prize,
which is why you got the lowest bidder.

Oh yes, do not cry,
if your tears are self pity.
Oh yes, you sure could try,
stopping crime in the city.
Carry some mace, use liberally.

Do your hair up,
brush up your dirty teeth,
and go shopping!

The point of this silly song,
is that when I do a wrong,
I will attempt a quick fix if I can.

So for offended ladies,
who would send me to hades,
I assure you only jesting was my plan.

Oh yes, you can cope.
There's no need to fetch a rope.
Oh yes, I gave offense,
I never claimed to be a prince.
If you WOULD try, then write your own stanzas.

I'm an engineer,
I never drink beer.
I am sober...

alternatively -

You can't beat me.
So don't even try!
Let's cooperate…

Oh yeah Happy Days! Some fine stuff from that era. Thank heaven for recordings so none of it is lost.

Quite possibly the best song ever. This video is amazing a window onto a different age, and yet so clearly the onset of the age we currently know. They start off a bit slow, but then they get in the groove.

Cream, Sunshine of Your Love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16h6vLy6n4A&feature=fvst

What happens when a flakey trippy folk singer schemes to get the girl , a damn good song!
Donovan, Sunshine Superman
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTuPbJLqFKI

Never heard this one before. Nice slides!

The Dewdrops, Chick-a-Boom, Don't ya jes love it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT8--CfCJXk&feature=related

ADDIT: @Slaakman and Jeeves, hey those are some good ones!

The Rolling Stones, Saitama Japan 2006: "Jumping Jack Flash"
(uploaded by yours truly)

This is from a televised concert in Japan, which I have. It was never released in its entirety on DVD, which is a shame. A couple of songs are on "The Biggest Bang" DVD set.

No, I haven't, Slaakman, but I have a Led Zep song which could be appropriate. Part II of "In My Time of Dying", Earls Court 1975. The band is cooking here -- check out JPJ's fingers flying.
