In a cowboy frame of mind tonight...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrOVc4P6ggw Marty Robbins - Hanging Tree

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xABVf_1pq5k Nat King Cole & Stubby Kaye - The Ballad of Cat Ballou (and Hanoi Jane Fonda ... Mmmmmm Jane...)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDhBW597Rx0 Glen Campbell - True Grit (the Sound of the Sixties, for me) - few battles are won alone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0bcALLEgwI Marty Robbins - Mr. Shorty
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbX1JKknS04 Marty Robbins (again) - The Ballad of the Alamo. Present and accounted for.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkXDLNRVMxY Frankie Laine - 3:10 to Yuma

Some people think wargamers are very strange. They may have seen this thread to help them make that deduction.

Does anyone listen to good music?

Before deciding to be offended, take note this post should earn me a star.

Well, I listen to Dean Martin also-and classical instrumentals. C&W gets some major attention too. Polka and rap are avoided. For some down home real R&R, Humble Pie fit the bill-when I really wanted it. After listening to it yesterday, I think I now need to go out and buy one of their albums-it has been a long time. It did impress some of the whipper snappers yesterday.

William Shatner's legendary interpretation of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. For some reason (probably closet masochism) I always have a strange compulsion to listen to it after I've just played Sgt Pepper's.

What's worse, were it possible, is the irresistable urge that follows to click the link to the almost-as-legendary Leonard Nimoy classic Ballad of Bilbo Baggins. That said, in fairness to Leonard, compared with Shatner he's a vocalist of genius. And the vid does at least have some pretty 60's chicks in it even if their dancing sucks.

I strongly advise not following a link to Shatner's Mr Tambourine Man if you value your sanity.

No - but why would it? New music comes along all the time and people listen to older music from their collections from time to time.
