Ballade pour Adeline was not made for TV. But it might very well have been used in TV but of that I have no knowledge.

I learned to like Richard Clayderman on my 14th birthday when we celabrated on a restaurant where they played Clayderman. We liked it so much so we asked about the music and later on I got one of his records as a present.

I don't know, I may be talking rubbish (that's a shocker isn't it ). I have googled it but cannot find any reference to it having been theme music... how strange. Maybe my mind is playing tricks in my frail dotage.

I've relistened to Ballade pour Adeline a few more times and I agree with you. It feels like it should be the theme show to a British TV show. Late 70's or early 80's as you said. Driving me bonkers. Could it be that it was renamed for TV? Or just a similar piano piece?

Maybe it was just played on the radio a lot at that time. It just sounded so familiar as soon as I played the link - like a blast from the past.

Anyway, here is another stonking piano piece to round off the evening:

I just looked it up and it is an Australian mini series. And since the English are the antagonists it might not have been that popular in UK.

Apparently that was the Philippine TV show it was used in - but there was also a feature film, and it is that that I cannot repeat.

I need to slow this roll a bit with The Possums BEST song.

George Jones - Still Doing Time

And Jerry Lee Lewis' best

JERRY LEE LEWIS - WHATS MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS HAS MADE A LOSER OUT OF ME

Just noticed that the vid contains the flip side also. Couldn't find a good studio version

Here is him nailing it live too. Poor sound but great performance

I like this album a lot. I like how "grainy" it is. I have listened to it 10 times in less than a month.
