British resistance seems to be on the wane. I am pushing both east and west, which i would not have done had more enemy units been located in this area -

Great AAR, from the strategic map it looks like the Russians are trying to outflank and surround the Germans in the East and west and turning south on the flanks. Bet the Hun won't last many turns now.

Great AAR! I look forward to more.

Reading it does bring a couple of questions to mind regarding the time (or lack of) for research and production to be completed. It looks like technology upgrades are automatically granted to all eligible units on the same turn the points are spent on research? So all Fighter I's automatically become Fighter II's the same turn as the research is commenced?

It also appears you can build major units, ships and etc in one turn. Does anyone care to elaborate on these areas more? I am used to games like Hearts of Iron, the Civ series, GGWaW and etc in which some time passes from when research or production is commenced to when you get the benefits. I am getting hung up on the idea of instant return, but it does not seem to be an issue for folks playing the game.

There are some things you can do add delay:

1. You can set units so they need a certain experience level to upgrade. The research is still instantaneous but upgrading will be delayed.
2. You can add lots of low production centers and make ships higher production so they take more turns to build.
3. You could do naval builds with action card (like WWII scenarios) and impose a delay. This will impact AI's however.

TURN 40 -

I concentrate this turn on encircling the German City and ensuring that the soviets cannot attack and take it next turn. The Germans are so pushed producing infantry and armour against the soviets that they have nothing to stop my air power -

The bewildered remains of the German garrison are destroyed by land attack. The City is mine and direct confrontation with the Soviet forces must be just round the corner.

TURN 42 -

Did not see this coming, The British counterattack with another airforce then follow up with very strong armoured formations. Looks like i underestimated them. I have sent fighters doen to my newly acquired town to try and intercept the enemy divebombers. This screenshot shows the strength of British armour -

I research Mortar II this turn as well. I think i need to start getting more production points again so i can get some advanced armour to counter the british and the soviet formations.

However, the British armoured units smash my defensive positions, surrounding the town and cutting off supply -

I counterattack and have made a passage through, if a lose this town a lot of my airforce will go with it. Losses have been heavy on both sides, this turn is my worst for casualties yet.

No - all troops remain exactly as they weer after research - yuo have to pay supply to upgrade them to the new tech.  it's quite expensive for a/c, quite cheap for infantry.

Production lines automatically update, so all lines that are devoted to fighters will produce Fighter II from that turn on.

"You have to pay supply ...". But just how exactly do you do that? What is the mechanism?

You click on the sub-formation you want to upgrade, then providing that HQ has enough supply, you can upgrade a quantity up to your supply level.

dave, you may have been able to use some artillery pieces (anti-tank and infantry guns) to backup your infantry defending Cattleelath but I don't remember you ordering any of those. the planes could get caught on the ground.  Maybe not though, guess we have to wait and see. I was putting some gun pieces with rifle infantry in a few of my divisions that were the first to land and it helped them to hold out and get me a beachhead established. It definitely helped my infantry to have some added firepower on the field.

Yep, Mortars won't be of much uses vs tanks, ATGuns or Bazooka inf would be much more effective if the Brit has mostly tanks in his units IMHO.

10 staff is an easy carry for a cargo ship (they have capacity of 50) - but the HQ might have been carrying a lot of supplies too??  I'm not sure what the weight of a unit of supplies is - in fact I'm not absolutely sure that they have weight...but I expect they do...

They do. I just ran into this issue in a PBEM game, where I was transferring Supplies to an HQ in the field with Trucks: I'm pretty sure it was 50 units = Load Value of 1.

I'll confirm this when my opponent returns my turn.

@ IceRing: did your Cargo Ship already have other Units on board? That would have caused you to receive the message that the HQ was too heavy.

thanks for help,it was caused by the supplies.
But,if we loaded a HQ in cargoships and move them on the sea, then supplies and troops being sent to the HQ automatically everyturn,i wonder if they can move when the weight of HQ exceeded the loadage of cargoships?by the way,how to make screenshot pls?

I think with the English nearly finished off he would have been on a par with the Russians, unless they showed up with some huge armies/tech advantages and hit a knock-out blow...
