Thought about that too but the aircraft numbers being different from one unit to another, I prefered to take another mode of calculation based on the engines - AF size x 60 engines = number of engines allowed. Makes my job as the Allies tougher, aka nicer

option to send bady damaged (selectable, base 40+) ships to home (e.q. tokio, osaka - any port with enough size and free repair points (if possible) ) - directly from  base screen, without need to create TF..and others needed things.
And of course, this button only send ships which have 99% chance of suriving way to home.

Well so far I only apply that rule to myself and my benevolent opponents. Hope a AFB mob won't come knocking on my door with torches and forks tonight for my obvious treachery

and another - vhen you viewing top pilots, it show you not only branch/type of Ac but airfield/carrier too. I simply want to know is is my top pilot (or group) based on shokaku or akagi .

and if you transfer unit - carrier capable from lan base to CV, then after certain time unit "upgrade" from carrier capable up to carrier trained (after all, pilots will learn how to safety land on Cv or simply die.)

and show on ac database if ac is carrier capable or not.

Playing the same SOPAC game with the same rules, one playing the Allies, and one playing the Japanese, against two different opponents... I will confess I definitely love both

Still someone will have to explain to me why my Japanese crew can't fly a mission without getting 15 fatigue points in their face...

Perhaps it has something to do with the longer range of their missions? One would expect that a pilot flying missions out to 17 hexes will have greater fatigue than one flying missions out to 8 hexes...

Yes I suppose so, that's why carrier crews don't get tired as quickly as land-based ones - but although an Emily team is flying to a longer range than a PBY one, I expect them to have a much larger crew too. Although I understand the logics behind the long Rabaul-PM strikes for both fighter and bomber crews, I tend to think the Emily crews are getting tired REALLY quickly ^^

Actually, I just realized there were only 10 people in an Emily, that's not that much more than in a Catalina, so nevermind...

A wish for a new button to press while I am watching the combat animations. The programming period for my next turn will have a list of relevant friendly units on a clipboard(perhaps) with a note saying "You wanted to review these units for this next turn."..(Ergo, if I sawa b 24 being pasted by superior CAP, on my next turn I want to have them in particular stand down till I can get them help, etc.)

ship repairs - game will simply tell you (on ship wiev screen) if is repaired by port/ar ships (or booth) or only own crew - and which is chance that ship will sunk if stay in current situation - like ship is anchored at port lùevel 2 - then game tell you - chance of sinking 80%, with AR assist 50% , at level 5 port 20%.
Similiar to ports/AR ships - it simply show maximum/actual capacity of ships repairs.

wiev ot totaly destoyed land units for booth sides (similiar to view of sunk ships) - it nice to know which LCU I have destoey, not only to see point for killed troops.
and option to recreate destroyed units (at a price) - it is very unfortunate to lose armored units as japanese, with no chance to get new (two armored divs for whole game..).

and another - show how many reinfrocment prive per day/week/mohnt (selectable) and after which time unit will be at full strenght.
And if is unit not reinforcing, tell reason why, same in if unit reinforcing , then show % at which is reinforcing (e.q. 20, 50, 100, 120 ) - and same - explining of reason for speed.

What about an additional mission for shipboard floatplanes: Spotting?
Plane would stay in hex with originating TF, improve accuracy of gunfire for own TF (depending on exp of pilot? both for naval combat and bombardment), in night combat would increase probability of surprising enemy TF (only for Japanese?).

This would reflect RL practice and create a genuine reason to live for the F1M2 (which was designed primarily for this task).

The other half is that USN CAs dumped their float planes before battle to reduce the fire hazard.

Some more small interface things:

On the ship screen, there is usually a button like "upgrade in 3/43 - yes/no". I usually want to know, how exactly the ship will look like after the upgrade (to delay upgrade if they only add 2 more AAA guns). Now this is a quite annoying task - I have to search the ship database for the correct type. Sometimes this is next to impossible to find (e.g. in CHS some Allied DDs upgrade to APDs with another class name). Thus I think the "upgrade in ..." should be clickable and link to the database entry of the new class immediately.

A very similiar issue is the aircraft replacement pool. I think the aircraft names should be clickable and link to the database enty. To make things perfect, the number in the "production rate" column could be clickable and give a list of all factorys producing this type. Anyway, this column should also include the number of damaged factorys (like the engines table does).

If the wishlist is really closed now, these things can be added to the wizshlist for the first patch

It is. In fact, didn't we post a screen shot at some time?

The "Update" text is hot. When clicked, it brings up a separate set of screens for upgrades. You can cycle thru the upgrades available, including seeing any changes in artwork. Also, type changes are noted on the ship screen next to "Update". If the next update of a DD would change it to an APD, you'd see: DD -> APD.

Sorry, we can not do perfect. There is only one perfect person in the world and I've not seen her since the divorce.

The wish list is closed. The patch list is not open.

Kind of like a fellow stuck in a room. The door he came in is marked "Do Not Exit" and the door on the other side is marked "Do Not Enter".

button to show size and location for sub-units of parent unit - created by tranporting of incomplete unit for simple reson - if I have e.q. 147 IJA army base/4 and i want to recombine this unit back to one unit, then I must go to list all land based units, filter, search...only to find i have one pice in tokio, second in rabaul, third in truk - and this is time consuming - having button for quick acces can save lot of time.
suply points - Ai will send big transport TFs to these point and then use small TFs to resuply smaller bases, while main TF returning back to mainland (japanese, usa) - e.q. AI send big TF to rabaul and then use (local) small TFs to resuply shortlands, guadalcanal...etc.
- air transports - show how many supplies will be droped at one run and how many flights (turns) will be needed to airlift/air evacuate selectet unit.

I've gotta say reading all of the released info so far about AE it already includes most of what I want. I'll have to wait until it's release to even come with a new wish list!

Doesn't seem worth it. We've come out and said that the features list for final release is closed (has been for months), and we can't open the features list for patches until after release.

Plus, nearly all of the stuff in this thread is beyond the scope of a re-write, which is what AE is.
