The 2746th NVA Reg decides this might be a good time to try a run at Da Nang:

As these attack results show, sometimes the Allied aircraft help out ( with CS ) and sometimes they don't.  Maybe too, I should attack the US units and try to destroy them instead of the ARNV units, because the ARVN units reconstruct and the US units don't.

Also, maybe I should try to capture provincial cities further to the south, closer to the border instead of attacking units in the coastal areas.  And maybe instead of disbanding I should dig in and make him attack me.  Questions for food for thought.

I'd say dig in and let him waste his resources trying to dig you out. Cheers.

Allied Turn 7:

The NLF has grown bolder this turn, invading in I Corps with several strong NVA units.  I would have preferred a couple more turns to buildup but I can't let this size force go unmolested.  I use the ARVN 1st division and some Marine recon to surround the 308th NVA division.  I was hoping to neutralize the enemy force with my air force but forgot that it is the monsoon so the best I could do is make some perimeter attacks and dig in.

I didn't take a picture but I launched a successful attack on a couple of NVA battalions that were closing in on Da Nang.

Southwest of Hue elements of the 1st NVA would not go away.  I would not normally attempt an attack at these odds but I had bountiful Marine artillery just sitting around doing nothing and their support tipped the scales.  Both enemy battalions were KIA.

Down in the central highlands the 316th NVA division has crossed the border.  The 22nd ARVN division answered the call and moved into blocking positions.  I have 2 fast response groups ready to meet this threat, depending on what Larry does next.

Things have been quiet in the Mekong Delta but the VC managed to occupy the provincial capital Cao Lanh.  Once again it was an ARVN division that was able to attack and re-establish government control.

So far the ARVN has only been effective about 50/50, but I've been lucky with them.  The divisions that were able to move just happened to be where I needed them and the ineffective ones (with Static orders) happened to be in quiet sectors.

So um......I finally woke up the fact that when I post pictures like the one below I'm giving away the exact position of hexes that the Allied forces need to re-convert back to friendly status. That's valuable intell. Or could be in the right hands.

So my question to you guys is this: (1) Should I stop posting pictures like that? or (2) Should I turn off the borders option for those kinds of pictures...which would leave the before and after picture the same for those situations where the units disband afterward? or (3) Should I just leave the classification as CLASSIFIED for the length of the entire game? or (4) Should I forget posting pictures and just concentrate on reports that concentrate on tactical / strategic considerations? or (5) Should I suck it up and post such pictures anyway believing he has that information already from the playback's he gets to watch?

I'm leaning toward (5) above since I know from experience that I get very valuable info from the playback myself.

FWIW I don't read your AAR until I've completed my turn and sent it off. The only intel I gather is from the playback. BTW nice picture of you at the Air Museum. We'll be sort of neighbors in a couple years as I plan to retire southeast of Tucson.

NOTE TO CURT It seems that I'm having problems keeping these guys in their home
