What is that thing in the lower left of the previous picture? Looks like a round worm (parasite) to me.

If you go shopping in that market, don't forget to take your Xoing first.

Mmmmm, silkworm pupae.  Crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

That's great, T! What's your goal?

Yeah, a squirrel cage is a good description. People come in and just stare at us sometimes. Very strange.

Considering the center of all US military confusion (the Pentagon) is often called a " five sided squirrel cage" , it seemed approriate for you to be in a small squirrel cage, with your avatar.

Good for you too, Steve.  Gradual weight loss is much better (and safer) than quick weight loss.

I'm actually losing some weight too.  I have this little tire that I've been working on.  About 10 lbs to go and I'll be where I want to be.  For me, it's cutting out the junk at lunch (just some sort of protein and veggie, yogurt and a piece of fruit while at work) and dessert only once a week in the evening.  I'm getting much more regular in my running too.  The goal is to do a half marathon next year.  Probably no more marathons for me.  Too time consuming.  Half marathons are much more fun.  The best part is that you can walk after it's over too.

That sounds great Mike! Maybe some day some of us can watch you run (and cheer you on!).

So does birthday cake get a special exemption?

They just upgraded where I work recently. In addition to the 3 big screens in front, we have 6 new flat screens around the walls. They're 52". Right now we have 3 different channels showing. Sundays will be lots of fun watching 3 different games at once.

Absolutely! My wife has a great birthday cake cookbook and makes cakes for family. We get to pick it out. Tonight I'll come home to a bananas foster cake. Yum!

It does sound great, Mike! Instead of watching you run, I'd like to run a half with you. It's been two years, and I'm determined to "get back on the wagon." I'm sure we could talk bobo into a group run somewhere.

Congratulations to both Steve and Terminus on the weight loss!  I've been almost completely inactive for the last 2 years, and I've gained a good 25 pounds.  Time to get moving!

T, walking is fantastic exercise for you.  A person burns just about the same amount of calories walking a mile as running a mile.  It just takes longer to do it.

Many of the training plans I've seen and followed include at least 1 good walking workout each week to exercise the let muscles without the impact.

Keep it up, guys!

So pick nuetral ground? How about doing 1/2 of the USMC marathon?

Running races with friends is always great fun. The last half I ran was in 96 or 97. I ran it at an 8:30 pace. Not sure I can do that anymore, but hey, it's a goal.
