the next battle is with the Grand Armee I, and this time I have ran into the main Ossite Army

but, this is Nappy and crew, strong on Cav and Arty, weak on troops

when a battle starts, you do not always get all of your forces on the battlefield at the beginning, this time around, I am even shorter of troops, which as I said going in, the Grand Armee I is strong in Arty and Cav but weak on troops, so I am at a disadvantage from the start (at least with the way I fight a battle)

all the broken, disordered troops showing, you see the results of massive charge and counter charges going on

and looking at the WTF at the top, in 2 hours, the enemy has dropped 7 points, while I have lost 2, that is Heavy losses for a 2 hour slot

this one is a bloody battle, alot of charges and counter charges, close range arty fire, and bad terrain, so everything is channeled or locked in place

the Ossites have also called for help, the numbers are going to grow on both sides

two of my guns are half strength

I am grinding them down, but I am breaking the Grand Armee doing it, all 4 of my main Gun batterys are at half strength or less

the Ossite reinforcements are giving them the staying power needed to inflect heavy damage to my troops

I have taken one VH, and am in the middle of his reinforcements

the battle for the hilltops are getting deadly, a good part of my forces are disordered or shot apart, but the enemy is in even worse shape

night time will only make me stronger, I hope

Still enjoying your AAR, Sarge!
When you have the time, please look in your other thread about AARs as I have posted a few questions for you there...

the last part of the battle for the hilltop was costly, but I had to dig those Jagers out of there, but, that broke there back, as you can see in the WTF numbers, panic has stuck, the battle is all over but the shouting now

the bad part is, I think the AI fought a heck of a battle, they pushed me all the way (Only, I know how to push back)

great battle

(forgive me, I work nights, I started losing focus right after the start of this battle, so I wasn't able to give it all the details it should of had, but this was a good battle, in fact, it is a shame, but 3 of the best battles the game has given me, the results were very nasty, but that was not the game or the AI's fault, the AI did what it should of done)

and of course, maybe we should have Erik or Gil step in and give the normal disclaimers about my HW battles

the results of the battle, the Ossites have asked for terms

figures, try to do a AAR, to show the system, and I end up with two of the biggest battles of the entire Campiagn, two of the largest losse in numbers, and two of the largest morale loss battles that I have seen, the first battle would of shattered almost any Nation, the 2nd battle was even worse, combined, there was nothing the Ossites could do but give up

Nappy would be happy

figures

was in a rush, and forgot the end of war screen

when you are in a war and the war ends, you get a choice of where your troops will move to, to leave the enemy lands, they also get a turn of supplies, so you will not lose troops to being out of supply

that is a hassle in my current war, trying to cut off the top of Ossiteland and overrun Prussia so I can head into Russia, just as I start, the Russian War with Turkey ends, so now, all of the Russian Troops have moved out of Turkey and right behind the front lines (and with FoW, I do not know where they are, but know they are close, so my plans of rushing (get it, get it, rushing into russia, hehe)
with small Corps while the Armee's fight the main war, is no longer a good idea, so troops have stopped on the borders

also right now, most of the battles are a little larger then you want to go to the Brig level battle

and again, also, I am in the middle of doing some of my tests, so the unit types and sizes may look odd, but I got work to do :)

the Battle of the line, in Brandenburg, Prussia

was to be a Army (small, no Corps yet) and a Corps from the other side, vs the Prussian Home army, only one showed up, so had to call for reinforcements

overall, too much firepower vs depleted troops, easy Victory

some of the supply rules are different, supply moves first, supply can't move close to the enemy

and the way you "buy" Upgrades for the Nation are a bit different

and again, screen above, I am testing upgrades, so that was not really a battle you would want to read about

oh oh, the shoe is on the other foot now

took Berlin, and move the Army out of there to regain West Prussia that I had let fall, but the Prussian Army, instead of trying for Berlin or standing in place, headed into Meclenburg, only got a Cav Div covering there (plan was, it could always call for help)

and YELL it did

58,000 vs 8,000 and some poor garrisons troopers

so plan here is to delay and confuse, and try to keep the Prussians from taking all 3 VHs before my help can get there

lost one, another may fall, but night has fallen, , help will be here by morning, but will be tired and not ready for battle

so may still be close

05:30 and the first troops begin to reach the battlefield, a Arty and a Inf, along with a Supply wagon

two VH's have fallen, my Cav is trying to get to the 3rd one before the Prussians can, could be interesting, they head for the VH, they open there flank to my oncoming troops, I would slaughter them, trick is how is the WTF going to be, the Prussian are on the low end of the battle already
