How did you guys discover Matrix Games?

I was at Best Buy and saw this interesting game called "Gary Grisby's World at War" and the rest is history.

I bought Korsun Pocket in a Best Buy or Fryes in 2004 that led me to Matrix. Its been a Honeymoon ever since.

Heard about WitP, checked the game, found MAtrix, and than purchased CotA.

It was either Battle Fields (AKA Combined Arms) or War In Russia (Matrix addition)approx 2 years before I registered here. I registered just before buying WitP. I heard about those games on the old (defunct) Warfare HQ site.

Bought Grigsby's "UV" at Electronic Boutique, then HttR; the rest is (personal) history.

But today, I rarely see a title associated w/Matrix Games in retail stores.

Our last retail release was Hired Guns in December, before that it was Panzer Command: Winterstorm. Retail has also changed a LOT since the early days of our existence, for the worse where PC games are concerned.

If it's any consolation AT ALL, it's going to bite them in the arse. (retailers that is). They jumped ship and went the way of the console and it looks like with chipped units, internet access and downloading becoming available for consoles, retailers just chopped off one of their limbs thinking they were on an unsinkable ship with console gaming...

I very, very rarely go in Game now. I used to be there every Friday to see what new release was out or if there were any specials. Not for a good few years now. Once I saw they were moving their "allegiance" to consoles (which I wouldn't have minded had they kept focus on PC Gaming too) and pretty much dumoing on PC gaming, I decided to move my allegiance.

I only EVER buy IN a store if it suits me and I'll try anywhere BUT Game.

Its a close tie with SPWAW and UV that got me here, I lurked for years before posting because I iz shy

As for buying PC games in da shops...

I am too bloody scared too... What with DRM that abducts yer PC and gives it a good anal probe, then it tells yoo that yer a pirate and yer store bought copy of 'Flashy GFX Gizzmo's 2' self destructs and wont let yoo install it anymore.... It's just tooo much stress and I am getting on in years and have to watch the old ticker....

Soo I mostly purchase MATRIX GAMES, where the games themselves are the challenge, NOT the DRM! (can I have a gold star please for that sound bite)

Cheers

Jev

Same here, my original Talonsoft CD's became un-operational due to scratches, etc...Was pointed to Matrix.

One day I used Google in order to search if Talonsoft is still alive or East Front II had become abandonware, because I disbanded my pc game collection some years ago. Google pointed me to Matrix.

Lurked for a while looking to buy Harpoon ANW (but never bothered) and then picked up Forge of Freedom. Am waiting now for CoG-EE.
