Hello,

Prussia was away in the nature for the weekend. I haven't expected the deadline for the turn to be on Monday, but Tuesday. I am also sorry for my lack of diplomacy thanks to my current move and hence sporadic internet access. The dust is settling however and I hope not to postpone you guys.

Mecklenburg finally realized it needs protection from the big powers. Good folks there.

I will send my turn in today at about 22:00 GMT (I am in London for an extremely brief stay).

Again sorry for this. I will announce my future unavalabilities.

Thank you for your consideration.

I do have quite a few difficult choices this turn as well. :)

HI Guys,
I posted earlier on this forum, and if you ever need another player to step in due to someone having to withdraw for whatever reason I would like to participate!

Hi, I'd also like to say, that I might have some lack of time and sleep in the next week. It's end of term and I have been working 12 hours a day all weekend and all of last week to finish some projects...

So if I ever miss the deadline by a bit please try to understand. It's gona be over on the 24th than I only have my essay to do!

Prussian turn has been sent in the morning.

I will now try to respond to all diplomacy requests that I ommited last turn. Friedrich was incapable for a month in one of the most crucial times in Prussian history. What a bad monarch.

I have to admit, it seems like 3 day turns are better than 2 day turns.  The reason is, while 2 day turns are enough to play the game and do the turn, it isn't quite enough time to send out diplomatic emails and get responses and then act on the basis of the response (because you kind of need to keep your turn until the last minute to see what the other person says or how they react).  Really seems 3 days is better than 2.  Or?

HiHi

B2 maybe if you spent less time trying to reorganise WCS and more on the PBEM game in hand then you wouldn't have such a problem.

I find it,"Odd", that 'Another PBEM', which started c2 weeks after this one, and has since had a weeks gap due to folk taking Holidays, still manages to be on T8 compered to this games T13!

So NO! 2 days is fine.

All the Best
Peter

Hihi,

Kingmaker, what are you upset about? You are running a nation with a mob. limit 4 times the size of mine. :) Dude, you're on easy street!

ROFL... "reorganize" :)  I haven't touched their org chart!    And I think we are allowed to make suggestions.  Nobody has to take any of them seriously.

You will notice that I didn't complain about my problems with the time.  I could send in a turn every day, if I could be reassured of diplomatic email turn around.  I am ready with my next turn right now.  But I am sitting on it for two days.  Waiting.  In case a diplo response necessitates change. I had most of my turn work planned out by 6PM today.  I can do my wheeling and dealing by phone if needed and have the turn out on the same day.

I was just reacting to Prussia's legitimate problems getting emails out this last turn.  It seems like every other turn, someone has a legitimate reason for a day long extention. I am the one with plenty of time on my hands at the moment.  I can't expect everyone to have that luxury as well.  And I certainly don't expect everyone else to sit by their computer waiting for PBEM diplo email to come rolling in every day AND get a response out.  Some people have a wife.  Or are students.  I am lucky I am in neither of these boats at the moment (having shed my wife 10 years ago).  I work at home and I can stop to do anything I like to at any time.  If Prussia has no problem with the two day turn around, then I don't either.

-B2 (I like that more than B!)

HiHi

B2 I feel you are missing the point here, Diplomacy/Role-play is fine for those who wish to indulge, I am all in favour of it myself ... when it is done well. BUT, there are those who either do not wish to indulge or if they do, only to a limited extent.

It is therefore Bad manners in the extreme to hold up their game whilst a load of diplomatic negotiations goes on. There is a 48 hr turn round in operation in this game, if folk can’t meet the deadline then a simple notification of valid problems/Holidays etc. to the MB is fine, everybody has to contend with real life at some point.

However, Diplomacy/Role-play is NOT in my opinion a valid reason, it is an indulgence between the players concerned and should not slow up the game for others, ie get your Diplomacy done within the agreed timeframe or go without.

All the Best
Peter

King,

Cool. :) I agree with you.

P.S. Kingmaker, by the way, I love your name here. Did you ever play the Avalon Hill game? I always wanted to buy it, but never got around to it.

Nope, Kingmaker reflects where I was born, ie "the Gods own county of Warwickshire" & Richard Neville Earl of Warwick, also known as 'Kingmaker'.

I'd just like to point out, that it sometimes take some time to coordinate stuff. When I was supplying the russian army I had to redo my turn a couple of time. These situation, du to sheer life can cause problem. I usually baring special situation play my turn in the 12 hours after receving the turn. But Matto can attest that I did send modified turns a couple of times now. Some times because I realized (or tough) I had forgotten to build a depot for one of my army. Others because my allies agreed on another plan than what I did.

The way I do it now (since I unfortunetely was the hold up twice since the beggining because of diplomatic reason) is play my turn, send it. Then if a diplomatic repli comes in to late then well so be it! It did happen in real life to.

Might be a slight delay in my turn. Firefox seems to have picked up a virus and won't launch, having to use IE. Scanning my pc and hope there isn't a serious problem. Will submit turn as soon as I'm sure I won't pass anything nasty on.

By the way, if anyone ever has any files sent to them that they feel suspicious about, you should go to virustotal.com.  There you can upload any file and they will check it against 30+ virus checkers (no SINGLE virus checker can ever recognize ALL viruses) and return a result.  If they say it is clean, it is the closest you will ever get to a safe file.

Looks like my problem is to do with my antivirus, which is based on BitDefender - there is an issue with Firefox. Looks like I'm stuck with IE til they fix it, urgh.

Will send my turn asap.

Hi there Barbarossa,

My turn was in a day ago - computer problems sorted. Don't think Spain got the last turn in until late yesterday, European time, so expect a turn back soon.
