Franck -> PBEM (3/1/2009 3:55:21 PM)

Hi, I know the game just got released... but I'm slowly learning it... I guess I'd be ready to try a game in some time (ie: one week or two)...

Anyone else would be interested?

Could we use glory penalties to make a bidding system?

Game as of now:
1803
advance economy
1000 glory
Me-Austria-michaudfrancis@hotmail.com
Lenin-UK-petebeadle AT hotmail DOT com
Matto-Spain-martin.smola at gmail dot com
Mus-Ot emp-tubit@comcast.net
CeltiCid-Russia-cidcm@telefonica.net
IW-France-danielcansell@comcast.net
Timurlain-Prussia-tom@pajonk.cz
Barbarosa 2- Sweden

Franck's house rule:

When a war ends between 2 major nations
(A)Unless the capital of a specific protectorate has been captured all of that protectorate's provinces that were originaly (pre-war) controlled by a player should be ceded back to the original (pre-war) onwner
(B) In the case where a major nations control the capital of a protectorate, the player who conquered the capital gets to keep all provinces that belonged to that protectorate. The player must still cede back any protectorate's provinces for which the protectorate's capital was not conquered!

exemple:
France and Austrian's Italian war:
France took control of the capital of Ventia, Naples and Papal States. By this rule he gets to keep all of the provinces he took there. If France had failed to take the capital of Naples before I surrendered he would have had to give me back all of the provinces he took from Naples. (ie: this is why I barricaded almost all of Naples armed force inside Naples. Hoping for a settlement before France could breach Naples.)

Sweden and the coalition's war:
Sweden took Copenhague. Since this is the capital of Danemark Sweden gets to keep that province after the war (If no one claims it with surrender points). If Sweden at taken control of any other Danish provinces he could also keep them.)

swetiger -> RE: PBEM (3/1/2009 5:07:35 PM)

New to the game aswell. Also in for a PBEM in a while. We could learn by startin a trial-by-error PBEM. [:)]

Well, well... lets se what happens.

timurlain -> RE: PBEM (3/1/2009 5:12:02 PM)

Oh definitively. Games tend to shine in the MP. I slowly getting my head around this one and would like to join a MP with some reasonable speed (ie working class people :) )

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/1/2009 7:58:13 PM)

I will play ... it is easy start and learn on the march ! [8D]

Same here. Dont expect loads och turns/day from me either. Give me some days to explore the game, then lets start a PBEM.

Franck -> RE: PBEM (3/2/2009 4:22:35 PM)

Well seem we got 4 players...

I'm quite a ''slow'' player (probably can get you 1 turn a day...). But I really enjoy doing these kind of things (I once played a full WiF PBEM with only one turn impulse ''IF POSSIBLE'' a day :) So I'm in for a while...

You guys have preferences for scenario? I only tryed 1805 until now... Seems like a good place to start.

You guys have any preference?
Advance-simple economy (I like advanced)
Year of start (I'd go with 1805 or 1803 I think)
How long?
victory condition (I'd go with highest glory at end)

Anyway got to go to school I'll get back to oyu guys later...

Here's my email: michaudfrancis@hotmail.com

CeltiCid -> RE: PBEM (3/2/2009 6:45:57 PM)

ill play too ;)

Any preferences is ok with me, but i suggest Advance economy, 1803, 1000 points of glory.

If i can choose, i choose Spain ;)

my email is cidcm@telefonica.net

---edited: changed Turkey by Spain

Mad66 -> RE: PBEM (3/3/2009 5:44:50 AM)

I'd like to play this, as well. Just got the game, played the older one for awhile, this iteration definitely has improvements. Too bad we can't really use most of them in PBEM play.

In any case, if I get a choice, I'd prefer Austria or Sweden.

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/3/2009 10:52:49 AM)

So when do you want start ... or will we wait for full game of people ?

Franck -> RE: PBEM (3/3/2009 11:51:01 PM)

Here is what I'd like:

1803
Advanced economy
I'd set this to max amount of time 12 years (144 turns, yeah, I'd like to play with people who are interested in a long game...)
Highest glory at end
I'd want to play Prussia or Austria.
I'm ready to start now.
michaudfrancis@hotmail.com

So if your interested, maybe just post your e-mail and wich nation you'd like to play here (2 nations so we can try to have a place for everyone... )  First come first serve!

Franck -> RE: PBEM (3/3/2009 11:51:42 PM)

Oh yes, i'd wait for a full game of dedicated people (that's just me if we can't get that in a short time we can always do something else).

danielcansell@comcast.net

France or Sweden, the above options seems fine to me.

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/4/2009 1:10:36 PM)

So now we have:

Matto ... Russia
Mad66 ... France or Sweden
Franck ... Prussia or Austria
CeltiCid ... Spain
Timurlain
Swetiger

lenin -> RE: PBEM (3/4/2009 3:05:49 PM)

If there is still room, I'd be interested.

petebeadle AT hotmail DOT com.

I'm a complete beginner too, perhaps I should play someone out of the way? Or I'll have a stab at England if nobody else wants it.

Franck -> RE: PBEM (3/4/2009 3:35:21 PM)

Lenin, take some time to look at the naval parts of the game, try some stuff at 1803 with only quick naval combat to make sure you don't loose all your fleet to early :D

We have:
Matto ... Russia
Mad66 ... France or Sweden
Franck ... Prussia or Austria
CeltiCid ... Spain                   (Might not want to play a 12 year game, wanted 1000 glory)
Timurlain
Swetiger
Lenin...  UK (and I'll add Ottoman since otherwise he wants something out of the way. Feel free to say so if you DEFENITELY DON'T WANT  Ottoman).

Matto can we get a second choice from you just in case :)

Franck -> RE: PBEM (3/4/2009 3:35:59 PM)

I don't know how the turns work with this game... But i'd like it if turn could be done in 48 hours.

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/5/2009 12:10:30 PM)

It is possible ... if all players will play their part anytime during 48 hours

PBEM turns:
1st turn ... first player must set up a game (France usually) and then send to all other players

all other turns ... players will play their part and send to last player (usually Spain) ... this player must wait for all files from all players, than he use Merge button in the game and result is send to all players ...

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/5/2009 12:11:47 PM)

I think for first game we can use 1000 glory points for victory ... but must say, that longer campaigns are better ...

If CeltiCid wants, I can play the last player part ... so take Spain

CeltiCid -> RE: PBEM (3/5/2009 1:13:42 PM)

ok.

i will play Prussia if no one have got it. Or ottoman Empire or whatever...

Matto play Spain ;)

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/5/2009 4:22:37 PM)

So let say

Matto ... Spain
Mad66 ... France
Franck ... Austria
CeltiCid ... Otoman
Timurlain ... Prussia
Swetiger ... Sweden
Lenin...  Britain

Agree ? Who did not write email, please write here ... my is martin.smola at gmail dot com

So we have still Russia for anybody ... or AI

CeltiCid -> RE: PBEM (3/5/2009 5:56:34 PM)

ill play Russia, not ottoman please. thanks

Mus -> RE: PBEM (3/5/2009 9:13:17 PM)

I would be interested in trying PBEM.  I have never done it before and would take Ottomans off the AIs hands.

As other players mentioned they had busy schedules I do as well but would love to try PBEM and being new I shouldnt disrupt the dynamic of the game too much by playing the "sick man of Europe."

Franck -> RE: PBEM (3/6/2009 2:12:30 AM)

OK then:
1000 glory
Me-Austria-michaudfrancis@hotmail.com
Lenin-UK-petebeadle AT hotmail DOT com
Matto-Spain-martin.smola at gmail dot com
Mus-Ot emp-tubit@comcast.net
CeltiCid-Russia-cidcm@telefonica.net
Mad66-France-danielcansell@comcast.net
Timurlain-Prussia
Swetiger - Sweden

We need the e-mail for the last 2 and still need to be sure they want to play this.

I'd really rather play 12 years... If you guys really want 1000 Glory that's ok with me...

I'd really want to hear everyone on this!

CeltiCid -> RE: PBEM (3/6/2009 3:00:34 AM)

anything will be ok with me, but i dont want a long game. Just want to test the game on mp. I have only played some turns on single, so im a noob. Dont want a infinite game ;)

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/6/2009 8:32:37 AM)

If we will play "good", than should be hard for anybody to have 1000 points ... so do not worry, 1000 points is fine for short as for long game ...

So 1803 scenario (never played it before, cool !), Advanced Economy (is harder for noobs, on the other side, without tactical battles is simple economy in PBEM games too easy ...)

So we need last two emails ... than must British player set up game ...

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/6/2009 8:55:08 AM)

Oops, not British, France player must set up a game ... sorry for mistake

OK, I'll check out how to do that in the manual. Someone email me when we are ready to start.
P.S. Be gentle with me, I'm a noob too and I've just seen the size of the French fleet!

timurlain -> RE: PBEM (3/6/2009 11:17:20 AM)

Ok. Prussia sounds good. My email is tom@pajonk.cz

You know, that wasn't the point of it but that's a really good idea. Wonder if that idea will take off.

CeltiCid -> RE: PBEM (3/6/2009 12:06:09 PM)

Edit the first post on this threat and add there the list of players and their emails, so when this threat have 20 pages, we can find them easy.
