Franck -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/8/2009 2:57:25 AM)

Anyone sees what happened with Illirya this turn?

This is bizzard... This is how they keep saying it should work... Yet it's the first time I notice it... (ie why I created the house rule)

P.S. turn sent

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/8/2009 3:29:49 AM)

lol yeah, what I think happened is that this is sort of a bug within a bug and ends up being correct (two negatives making a positive or whatever). [:D] What I mean is that Illyria was not garrisoned, which brings up a bug where the invading nation can't actually take the province. If it were garrisoned, Russia would have actually taken it. In the other pbem, I was unable to take nuetral minors Piedmont and Genoa because they were not garrisoned and they showed as "occupied". The only thing that seemed that might work is to offer a ceasefire and wait until the computer re-garrisoned it, and then DoW it again.

(see also Terje's French-Brirish-French-British thread in the support section)

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/9/2009 10:08:52 AM)

HiHi

Russias T32 orders sent in.

All the Best
Peter

Matto -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/10/2009 4:50:54 PM)

Waiting for Prussia ...

lenin -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/11/2009 6:25:14 AM)

The new patch is out guys.

What are we going to do?

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/11/2009 8:09:41 AM)

HiHi

As the bulk of players are invoved in both the PBEM games it would need to be all do, or none do, till we are sure what exactly we are going to do.

As far as I know there is still no word as to if we can patch over the existing games and still play on so ...

All the Best
Peter

Matto -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/11/2009 10:06:32 AM)

So old save files are compatible with new patch ... or can say, is possible open it and continue. But there are many changes and first turns after patch should be little bit complicated. So I suggest restart ...
Opinions ?

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/11/2009 1:57:50 PM)

HiHi

I cant even get to download the patch yet, I wanted to see what the Read me files had to say but I keep being passed to the FTP server and my members password doesnt work just keeps coming back to FTP server, what am I doing wrong?

Mat have you been told the patch is definately OK to patch on top of existing games, coz I cant see anything on the MBs about that?

All the Best
Peter

Matto -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/11/2009 2:11:07 PM)

I opened last turn without any problems and it looks, that everything is fine ... so we can continue ...
Try it you all, open last turn and look on it ...

Mus -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/11/2009 11:44:33 PM)

I think this game has been so badly damaged by Glory bugs that we ought to start another game, perhaps a different scenario with same countries?  Or reshuffle the countries depending on peoples preference?

Unless the patch somehow corrects the damage that has already been inflicted by the Glory bugs.

lenin -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/12/2009 6:23:52 AM)

I'm in favour of restarting this too. I'd be happy to play another power too.

Matto -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/12/2009 8:57:49 AM)

So are we stopping this game ?

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/12/2009 9:27:27 AM)

HiHi

We cant carry on with this one anyhow till Tom sends in his orders so ... ?

All the Best
Peter

Matto -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/12/2009 10:32:06 AM)

He send it today morning ... so I can merge it and play it ...

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/12/2009 10:42:26 AM)

HiHi

Yer go ahead Mat, it will at least give us all something to fiddle around with Game wise [:D]

You make the call about us all Patching up for the next turn and notify everybody in your return, then we can continue untill it's finally desided to stop or not.

All the Best
Peter

lenin -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/12/2009 5:43:38 PM)

Send the turn out, and lets see where we all stand. At least we will see who is the winner, though I think we all agree it should be France!

Franck -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/12/2009 11:10:27 PM)

I'm definetely for a restart. I said it before, but if this was the long thing I would have surrendered right after the declaration of war by france. He could have forced me to liberate 1 of the 2 countries he gave me by declaring war... But I would have kept one and I would have kept Naple fleets which was all I carred for. (I'd rather UK dominate the seas then france.)

I'D go with my bidding systme too if glory bugs are fixed!

Mus -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/13/2009 1:23:43 AM)

Im all for restarting another game and would like bidding to be included to help level the playing field.

timurlain -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/13/2009 10:21:46 PM)

Hello
I am fine with both restarting this game and continuing to play. I would like to play one PBEM of COGEE somehow :) I have fond that I actually am much keener on the PBEM than on playing a single player campaign, which now seems rather dull.

Matto -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/13/2009 10:25:54 PM)

So last question ... will we close this game and "restart" some new in another thread ... or will we start this one agaoin with same people ?

Might as well start a new thread but I think most/all players want to play together in a new game?

Something I mentioned in the 109 PBEM game thread was that Gil requested some players do more AARs and post them to different sites now that the patch is out.

Not sure if the 109 game players will want to do it, but maybe players in this game will.

My idea is to have all players start a thread in the AAR section and put a little blurb about each turn, maybe a SS or two, as we play one of these games, either the new one coming from this game, or the 109 game.

Matto -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/13/2009 10:33:57 PM)

So OK, lets close this thread ... who wants to play new game, join some ...

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/13/2009 11:50:13 PM)

Good Game everyone, and thanks for letting me take over as France. Was a lot of fun even with the bugs. [:)]

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/14/2009 8:47:39 AM)

HiHi

Bugger! not gonna get the chance to kick that little Corsicans runts arse into touch ... well played Bill, from my limited experiance you played france brilliantly, Salute Sir, Salute.

Yer I'm up for another game but fraid I'm gonna be a stick in the mud and repeat not with Bidding or Mods that said you shouldn't have any probs filling countries so I wont hold you all up, I'll just watch from the sidelines.

All the Best
Peter

[:D]

Cheers Peter, the same for a well played Russia to you. Those hit and run tactics were giving me fits the whole time! I'd never have imagined seeing Russians make amphibious landings on France's shores, well done (gave me some ideas if I ever play Russia). [;)]

Hope we can get another game going soon (I have no problem playing multiple games at once).

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/14/2009 9:03:50 PM)

HiHi

Be warned Bill if you do try those tactics it's a nerve wracking buiness coz if you get it badly wrong you can easily lose your armies! so if you smoke have a full packet to hand, if your drink make sure your glass is topped up before you start [:)]

If you could be persuaded to give the 1792 scenierio a go as a 'No frills' experiance, ie without aforemention Rorsican ... err, sorry, Corsican runt, & bidding maybe we could play that, you and the other guys in 109 would then get an idea how much the game differs with the Mod (if you are interestedf in that sort of thing), thoughts?

All the Best
Peter

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/14/2009 9:16:36 PM)

Sure, just let me know... if you have room I'd be up for it. I was able to seperate RG's mod from stock, so I'd be able to do both.

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/14/2009 9:45:23 PM)

HiHi

Good man, I'll get T40 sent out for 'Another PBEM' then set up a new Thread '1792 No frills' see what/if any interest out there.

I feel it's only fair for B2 to get a chance if he wishes so any idea when he's back from Hols?

All the Best
Peter

barbarossa2 -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/18/2009 4:18:14 PM)

Hey guys. I am back. :)

Franck -> RE: PBEM 1A (6/18/2009 4:43:20 PM)

We got a BIG place for you in 1792 no frills game :)
