Hmmm...in the context of PDU, then, this would make THE TOE "Poster Defined Ugly". Let's keep PDU OFF for THE THREAD!! please.

Sartre, if i remenber correctly, is the guy who said

"Hell, is others"
"L'enfer, c'est les autres".

But the others things i know on him come from a comic sketch, so i can't pretend i know much.

edit: i must precise this is a reply to Thegreatwent about Sartre, of course.
Sorry guys, i am a bit...err....tired ? Ok, i keep this word

Hi guys. Still feeling blue, it's just the way of things. Today at lunch was the first time I came home on my own and Kora wasn't there to greet me.
Our other dog is helping to keep our minds off, they always seem to know when their people need comforting even though she's not exactly sure what's going on. We've already noticed a change in the way she plays, before she always used to drop the toys in the middle of the room and wait for Kora to bring them to us. Now she's started dropping them in our lap instead.

We want another dog, probably another BC as they're the ones I grew up with. But with baby Dixie (or baby Clare) on the way so soon it's going to be next summer at the earliest. A new-born sprog and a new puppy would be far too much work, especially for my wife when I head back to work after paternity leave. The longer we leave it though, the harder it's going to be, although even if we didn't have little one on the way I wouldn't want to get one so soon, not sure it's the right word but I'd feel disloyal.

We're going to scatter her ashes in three places and keep some, although I know she isn't 'there' any more we're keeping some with us as well. We asked the vet to put her favourite toy in with her. I'm getting teary eyes typing all this.

It seems kind of strange to feel so bad when others in our group have other problems of their own.

I know really.

One of my favourite pictures of her, taken last year not long after I got back from 4 weeks away.

Woof, woof... Were her eyes mismatched, or are mine playing silly buggers on me?

Yes, one blue and one brown. It's quite common in BCs her parents both had odd eyes, our youngest has one eye that's actually two different colours. It often seemed to surprise people, they'd often assume she was blind in the blue eye.

I've just be sent off again after I found some of her fur in a grooming comb.

I agree with Terminus, Martin. One should never be ashamed of returning that kind of unconditional love and loyalty.

I know it'll get easier with time, hopefully once we get past her birthday on Thursday I'll feel brighter. She brought so much happiness to our lives that I know the good memories will be what I keep in the long term.

Anyway, moving the topic on.

It's good to see that Wayne Rooney's new baby is covered under sports news on the BBC website and that it's one of the most viewed stories of the day   Maybe the real news is too complicated for people to understand these days...

Good words. The love of a dog is really honest.

This is the one my familiy lost in summer. She's now killing cats all day long wihtout any punishment

Hmm...
Sad to see the picture in that size now. The memory of her coming and putting her head on my legs is immediately back...

Ah, she looks a lot like a Springer Spaniel which are popular here in the UK. Best described as a bundle of excitable, energetic, amiable incompetence
