So what are people up to today?

Trying to get my mind back on work after the holidays and before that, 3 weeks in sunny Florida. Result: I don't want to work and I didn't like coming back to cold North Carolina. Other than that, it's all good.

I am having a tough Monday after holiday workday. LOts of people all of a sudden need lots of things. Which is great of course. I need my clients to want me to do things for them Just taking me a bit longer to get things done.

Because no-one ever specified how much better the new year should be.

Good morning Guys... what does 'Tithe' mean please?

It's our reference to tithing, or donating 10% of one's income to the church of choice. We generally make at least 10% of our posts in THE THREAD!!!

So what are people up to today?

One hour of hockey camp for my son this morning, picked up Patton on BluRay on the way home, ate some more, drank some coffee, cleaned up a bit around the house, watched The Return of the Jedi with my son, and now deciding which priority to watch the Hurricanes hockey game and Monday Night Football this evening.

Vacation is hard. Tomorrow, my official plan is to sleep until I feel like getting out of bed, then sitting on my butt all day.

I took FORTRAN in school. We used regular computer terminals and text editors to write the programs, but they still were stuck with the 80 column punch card format. Horrible to work with.

Good day, Brother Chicken.

I mentioned your best friend to my wife the other day, and she knows exactly who he is. She said his name, apparently the only person it could be in poultry, but we were at the Hurricanes game, and I can't remember it.

DivePac88 should know where this place is.

The summit where Tamatea the man, with the big knees, the climber of the mountains, and the land-swallower who travelled about, played his flute to the one he loved.

I really do NOT want to hear about the big flute between his knees!!!

People were falling over themselves to praise the book, and I found it open-my-own-wrists-with-my-teeth-boring.

I thought the concept was intriguing in a way that one might find Monty Python intriguing. Then the "story" got to the "plot development" I lost interest completely. The only reason I finished the book is because it bugs me to no end to leave a book unfinished (call it neurotic, if you must).

Neurotic!

Theres always one.....

Basil Rathbone/Sherlock Holmes marathon on TCM today

Aw, man! I'm watching Beaches, and then have to go out to a hockey lesson.

You're watching 'Beaches'? Voluntarily? Did you lose a bet? Religious pennance? Isn't that outlawed by one of the amendments to the Constitution (along with 'Steel Magnolias' and 'Sleepless in Seattle')?

....and Titanic.
