Incidentally, I'm sitting at Borders with GFU....were both on our laptops and I've got a Bose headset on hooked up to my iPod.....I've never felt more like a yuppie in my life...

Sippin' on your half caf mochachino with a twist of lime and a sprinke of organic free trade cinnamon on top?

But you're right about "grits" being a collective noun. There jist hain't no "one grit" on that there Soutern menu.

No - legendary.

Actually, both my parents were pretty much humorless. I hate to think that it dated back to the first time they looked down into the crib and saw - me...

Ding!

I knew a Chinese girl once named Ding. Her sister was named Ping. They had two brothers - Dong and Pong.

Strange family. Imagine introducing 'em - "meet my friends, Ding, Dong, Ping, Pong..."

Notorious, you say?

Well, that all depends. Did you look like a baby or a giant ham?

You know what guys ?
After seeing a picture of an entire canned chicken, and now this, i am happy to eat french food

Eric, ol' buddy, I know French cuisine has some....lets call them peculiarities, but I would take those over canned chicken (which looks like it might have died a natural death) and Vegemite any day.

I admit that some stuff are not of my taste in french cooking. But at least we know how to cook a chicken, and how to present it !!

What do you know about "Sharon"? You dont strike me as the football jock kind.

Ah, but you are wrong, ozone destroyer breath. I played football (American variety) in high school and college.

In high school, I was a fullback on offense and middle linebacker on defense. Was quite the stud in those days, if I do say so myself.

In college, they figured me for a linebacker, and I became a deep reserve (I was small for the position, but I made up for it by being slow) and suicide-squad (that's kicking teams for the uninitiated) player.

There might be some that are booze related but he doesnt remember.

And then there are some of each. I have to confess waking up more than once, noticing a big lump in the sheet and having no idea how it got there.

That's when you cautiously lift up a corner of the sheet, take a quick peek underneath, then drop it quick before she (or it) wakes up, and you mutter to yourself, "Auughh, even drunk I thought I had better taste than that."

Just like a lawyer to jump to conclusions. You may have had a great time with her (or it).

Me being so bored these days I borrowed Rosetta Stone French just for kicks. Seems I can still speak enough to find my way to the nearest bathroom....or identify a girl on a horse, if needed.

No sloppy seconds for me, dude.

Sharon and I were kind of an item for awhile in high school, but she dumped me for Keith, who was a wrestler. I guess she liked his takedown technique.

I ran into her twice after that, once when I was home on leave from the Air Farce (and, yes, we went out for a few laps around the track) and later at our five-year reunion (when I saw, evenat the tender age of 23, poor Sharon had been ridden hard and put away wet a few times too often).

Too bad. I always liked Sharon. Great sense of humor. In her senior year, after she finished second to Jackie - who else? - for homecoming queen, she said to me, "She's gonna need dentures at an early age, 'cause somebody's gonna get so sick of that cheesy smile they're gonna kick it right down her throat."

You got it all wrong. As I fancy myself something of a historian, I just like collecting war stories.
