Every time I hear people whining about unimportant stuff, I'm reminded of a British TV film I saw several years ago. It was called "Warriors", and was about a group of British Army soldiers sent to serve in the UN mission in Bosnia in the early 90s.

Close to the end of the film, the main character has come home, and is standing in his local supermarket one day. Nearby, a small child is throwing a tantrum because its mother won't buy candy for it. He walks up to them, looks down on the child with utter contempt and disgustedly asks, "What are you crying for? You've still got both your arms and legs".

I do love a good elction campaign, all those random people shoving leaflets through my door and annoying the dog...

EDIT: And what really annoys me is candidates asking me if I've decided who I'm going to vote for when I arrive at the polling station. Do they think I've walked down there without knowing who I'm going to vote for? That I'm going to vote for the first one who talks to me...

Normally I'd agree with you but I've seen some of the people that walk into polling stations . . . I'm not sure some of them have a mind much less one with a capability to decide anything.

No

Every day is tax day...

Maybe I should force them to perform an elaborate undertaking or humilate themselves "for my vote". Once they've finished I'll tell them they failed the test. We'll see who really wants my vote

Now that's funny. I can see it now on the landing in front of the Dixie household...

"You. Fatty. That's right. Drop and give me 20 pushups, if you want my vote. WAIT FOR IT! NOW!"

[notes time passage on watch]. Unfit candidate finally finishes 20 pushups.

"No no no. You had poor form. Do it over until you get it right, man! Oh, then mow the lawn and lick these boots."

[slams door and goes back inside to an run an AE turn]

Where is Adolf Hilter (note spelling) running for office this year? Is it still Luten? And Ron Vibbentrop?

I believe he's running for Minehead. His manifesto includes annexing Taunton.

Question for anyone with the least medical inclination who has seen the 4th part of the Pacific. What was it that brought on the bedwetting? Stress?

I'm thinking of a lower urinary tract infection that interferes with normal urinary sphincter / smooth muscle tone either in the urethra or at the bladder trigone (where the urethra comes off the bladder).

But that's just a guess.

Sounds like a neurological infection. You should seek medical help.

Well, its a hell of a thing to get, I wager. I never read his book. Thinking of picking it up.

Well, I liked the first one (yes, it had nothing to do with the book, but it was fun to watch) and I remember thinking "how bad can it (the 3rd one) be?" Now I know. It is struly the second worst movie I've ever seen.
