Okay, so go to the local Stater Bros market to get the weekly usuals. A very nice young man from a local church group is out front collecting for Marine families. That would have been enough for me, but then he moved aside a bit and there was an honest-to-God, full boogie Major, in khakis, with his leaves on (no cover).

A field grade standing in a supermarket parking lot with a smile on his face. Woof! We chatted for a bit and just fyi for them thats been there and done that, most people donate food, and that's totally cool, but it's the relatively expensive personal items that helps out the folks at home the most.

I gave a 12 pack of TP, a 6 pack of tooth brushes and toothpaste, a dozen bars of nice soap, couple jugs of dishwashing soap and laundry detergent, and two boxes of Pampers. They also serve who keep the home fires burning and deserve our equal respect.

Wow. We're having a serious thunderstorm right now. Just came in from the balcony. Flashes all over the place and the sound is like you're sitting in a bass drum. Awesome show.

OMG!

I thought Iceland, Norway and Greenland were bad!

No seriously, one of the main reasons why so many scandinavians settled around the big lakes is just because it's quite like Sweden climatewise.

That was nice done!

Free of the crud we got this week and enjoying it. My wife is not. She always seems to get it worse than me. Sorta undermines the old adage that women have better constitutions than men. I think it's just she's susceptible to head problems...genetic because her mother is too. I'm much more prone to GI problems and am totally incapacitated by them, unlike her.

Of course, she did have two Manhattans tonight, which will put down the strongest ox.

Finally locked that stupid "censorship" thread, after "Rudolf" demonstrated to everybody why we can't discuss certain topics on this forum. Hopefully it'll be some time before some other idiot "forgets" and opens another one.

Mostly, yes.

My hangover though, resulted from mixing vast quantities of brandy, beer and moonshine.

Sunday afternoon - Tithe.

Slept in way late, so someone will have to fill me in on what Sunday morning was like.

Post high school reunion tithe. It was really fun and interesting to see old classmates from 40+ years ago, but the old familiar high school rituals surfaced on cue once the initial greetings were exchanged.

Cliques began forming almost immediately. Of course large quanities of free beer were consumed (not that there's anything wrong with that). However, peace prevailed throughout the evening and no nerds were harmed during the proceedings.

One girl could not enter the main area because a former boyfriend was there and it apparently would have been the greatest of embarasments had they made visual contact. She was subsequently cacooned by her girlfirends, thus avoiding the insentitive cad, while in turn making herself completely isolated from anyone else.

Biker dudes and chicks roared onto the scene. Eventually doobies were lit as darkness settled and the music blared even louder. The hottest of the former hot chicks arrived fashionably late, wearing skin-tight, low-cut, breastage-revealing outfits, in desparate attempts to recaputure the glory of yesteryear.

Yes, nothing like a high school reunion to confirm that my path of non-conformity has been well rewarded. I was constantly reminded of the old proverb: "There but for the grace of God go I". Thus I am ever grateful to Belmont High.
