Hi.
Yesterday, I tried a generated battle in the Pacific, where my USMC were to do a beach assault. Bought my a company of Inf, a section of Satans, and one of Shermans. I also had 1 platoon of FT-engineers, and one of DC-engineers. As artillery, I had 2 destroyers.
I had all this cool stuff, and were expecting stiff resistance. I used the prep. bombardment to lay smoke, and then, made it do a creeping barage, while I headed for shore. When my first DUKW hit the shore, it was assaulted. The .30 MG-team got awy with the scare, but the DUKW did blow up. The next DUKW, also were assaulted (by another uint), but got away unscatched. The next unit, I landed, were closer to the map-edge. I found out that I had flanked that possition. My Marines made the Japanese, keep their heads down long enough to get one of the Satans in possition. And then they had a BBQ. This position contained the staggering amount of to InfA squads.
To make a long story short, I met some ligth resistance, but got a decisive victory. I also found out that the complite Japanese defenceforce were 2 InfA platoons, the HQ, and a SNLF HQ pluss a InfA squad.
Why did the Japanese have so few units? All other opponents, I have met, have had a reasonable number or troop (or unresonable many).
I have also tried some ANZAC and India vs Japan, and the Japanese always had very few troops.
