I ran tracker using the saved file in 04 slot which had a scenario #6 saved game, I then deleted that saved file form WITPAE, and saved a scenarior #4 in slot 04, but the tracker still tries to read the scenario #6 file that is no longer save there, what can i do to have tracker correctly read the new saved file?

Hi xnavytc

Have you remembered to edit the witptracker.properties file and change the line
from SaveFile=[wpae004.pws]
to SaveFile=[wpae006.pws] ??

guess the question is worded wrong, the savefile in properties reads wpae004.pws, but the scenario i saved in the 04 slot in the game has been deleted and a different scenario has been saved in the 04 slot in game, but the tracker still wants to read the turn from the original scenario that was in the 04 slot even though that scenario has been deleted.

Aha..

Ok, first of all it is important to note that a specific Tracker database is intended for use with a particular scenario, not a particular save slot. If you wish to use the same save slot, but with a different scenario, then you are going to need to delete/backup the current trackerdb file and create a new one for use with the scenario you are using.

Keep in mind that a turn can only be loaded once, and also that if you load turn 3 before turn 2, then it is also too late to load turn 2. So I guess it would be possible to restart a specific scenario, but you will not be able to load the turns until you pass the last load point in the Database.....

I hope that is not too much yet still relevant information to aid you with your problem.

Hi

I have a problem with a new game I'm loading into Tracker. The first turn loads fine, database is created, Tracker works, except when I scroll down the Task Force list.

Then I get a series of messages, which begin by:

Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ArithmeticException: / by zero
at witptracker.TaskForce.GetETA(TaskForce.java:757)
at witptracker.TaskForcePanel$1.getValueAt(TaskForcePanel.java:152)

Any idea about what's happening?

Thanks in advance,
Francois

Looks like my problem ... will PM you my email so I can have a look at the save.

I'm having the same problem. All list work properly except for Task Force. Task Force doesn't always fail though.

As a wild guess, it could be a TF with zero fuel/endurance left. This suggested by the '/ by zero' and the 'GetETA'.

Hi Damian, I'm using Tracker V1.8, I tried to use tracker for the third turn and recieved the message in the image, the first two turns loaded fine. I'm using the beta released around October 10th for all three turns any thoughts on why this message is coming up? Thanks!!

This problem is related to ARD's movement due to a speed issue I didn't account for. The speed is less than the size of a hex for a whole days movement. Either don't look at the TF panel while you're moving the TF or accept the error for the mean time.

Sorry

Something about the save didn't read properly. It doesn't make sense why, if all three turns came from the same version of the game, two work and one won't. Can you try starting a new database and load this third turn and see what happens?

Floyd and Damian, thanks very much for the help and your contributions to the community, ... I'm starting to think it may be a problem on my end with windows , java or something else. I've been running and reinstalling tracker for quite some time and haven't had a problem. I just started using the beta instead of the last official patch. 1.06 1108q7 is the beta I'm using , I figured I'd delete the tracker folder and start fresh......

I downloaded Tracker 1.8 went through the installation instructions and as it stands now tracker won't run, as I Double-click the witptracker.bat file to begin the execution. I get this message in the box

C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\New Folder\AE.files\WitPTracker AE Release 1.8>java -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"
Initializing WitP Tracker AE database.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
at witptracker.Engines.GetEngines(Engines.java:75)
at witptracker.InMemoryDB.LoadStartupTables(InMemoryDB.java:154)
at witptracker.Main.main(Main.java:157)
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\New Folder\AE.files\WitPTracker AE Release 1.8>pause

Press any key to continue . . .

I don't believe I've made any changes to my system other than updating windows the other day. Any help is appreaciated .

Hey guys, got it rolling- I downloaded a new Java -still the same issue, I went back and was checking the thread admittedly something I should have done the first time and noticed someone with the same issue as I was having after trying to reinstall. I took Damian's advice from that post---->
quote:

ORIGINAL: n01487477

Firstly, copy the dll from the beta2 dir into the tracker dir.

and success. Thanks again guys!!

After quite a bit of work, I now have tracker working and thank you all for your efforts. I think it is a great tool and I will use it often. I am wondering if there is a way in tracker to see if your Hi/Li output is enough to sustain your current production? That is an area I have never known whether to expand or not.

Thanks

Mike

Help!
Since I installed the newest beta patch I can't get the tracker to load. I am sure this has been answered in the 100 or so pages of this thread, but I would appreciate any help. I get this message:

Hi Olorin, I had the same issue and used this advice from Damian as he responded to a post on the page prior with the very same issue-

..and it cleared the situation up. Best of luck.

I've also made some changes to the production screens for easier viewing with better number formatting etc...

Anyway, gotta plow on with the ship re-arm code; which if I can't finalise in the next day or two might chuck it into 2.0.

Floyds gonna have a fit with all the changes.

Damien,

If you have the time please add an extra text line to the Recommended Build Dialogue that details how the ToBuild value is determined.

Damien,

I have a mouse over effect and the frame stats pop-up gives the full equation "ToBuild=" & "+" actually means these things are added together. I'll make some more notes on it before release. This is just PDU OFF, I feel PDU ON might get too complicated at present. And PDU ON gives a good guide at present.

This actually did my head in yesterday, was working on it for a few hours as I was trying to make it more intelligent regarding the date of next upgrades etc. I almost added some more with looking at planes losses over time as a function in this... but I didn't!

And I actually need to test this more too ...

Cheers,

HI Damien,

Actually, I should withdraw my request. If I had read the screen a little more carefully I would have noted the explanation or the ToBuild calculation followed on line three.

I guess its the programmer in me.... I initially saw a variable being used before it got defined and did not look further. Maybe I should practice my functional programming a little more... and would then be a bit more tolerant.

My apologies...

Bruce

I doubt it's the scenario. I think you'll find its because you're using the beta.

Firstly, delete the trackerdb*. files then
copy the dll from the beta2 dir into the tracker dir.
Try again...
