What do the icons bearing the numbers 27, 30 & 39 indicate in the first screenie?

The movement points remaining if you move to those hexes.

1024x768 is the max resolution?

No. You can go much higher. We are also working on widescreen support now, but you should be able to do just about any resolution with 1024x768 as the minimum.

Are you also working on 3-D and IMAX support?

Hey. Some questions from an old War In Russia player:

- Will hex sides be possible to turn off?

- Will it be possible to run the game fullscreen?

- Will most commands in the game be possible using only the keyboard, like in the old WiR?

Otherwise looking great, and I have complete confidence the team will implement the "war" part of the game just excellent.

Hey. Some questions from an old War In Russia player:

We plan on having two map art sets, one with hexes on, one with them off.

- Will it be possible to run the game fullscreen?

No, but you can resize the play window as you wish.

- Will most commands in the game be possible using only the keyboard, like in the old WiR?

No, in fact I can't think of any keyboard only inputs. Mouse is standard with tons of hotkeys.

Otherwise looking great, and I have complete confidence the team will implement the "war" part of the game just excellent.

Thanks for the answers Joel.

And, sorry for being vague, by "keyboard only" i guess I meant you arent forced to use the mouse to do stuff. "Tons of hotkeys" sounds just great

Too bad about the fullscreen - I find it breaks immersion for me to see the windows buttons. But maybe later eh?

You can maximize it and move down task bar

Wow. This is a stunning looking game. I have never been so impatient for a game release. Oh, wait, I have been waiting for World In Flames for 50 years, but that's another story.

The screenshots show rail lines but I don't see any roads. Granted that east front roads were poor but some good paved roads did exist. An example is the four-lane highway from Smolensk to Moscow. Are good roads taken into account?

Yes, in form that places with better road have higher chance to have "better" terrain.

Is there any chance of getting a screenshot of an air unit?

Looking at the top menu bar it seems that air units, as in WIR, will have a series of air strike options available (against airfields, industry, interdiction, ground attack,...) - will they also, in addition, support ground combat in their radius? Is this based on the original WIR or will it be a totally new approach?

Yes there will be more

we just have to watch what we are trying to show, to make sure what we are trying, is what ends up getting shown

Wasn't there an East Front boardgame that had a town called The Village (from the original The Prisoner TV show)?

For adding flavor and historical accuracy I would love to see icons/symbols based on WWII German iconolgy.

Like presented on this site: http://orbat.com/site/ww2/drleo/011_germany/symbols/_symbols_41.html

Make it happen.

Comments on Screen Shots.

1. No Leader show for 17th Panzer Div, huh?

2. Would be nice to see a picture of unit type (AKA WITP, Campaign Battles) of the unit VS. just a unit counter on the right hand side.

3. Still miss the full Norway Map, always enjoyed the minor war in Norway in WIR.

Leaders for the Germans don't come into play, until Corps level, about the same for the Su

(but, there are Corps level Su HQs and there are corps level units, so a unit, will not get a leader, but a HQ will)

hope that makes sense, when your in the game, it is easy, kind of HARD outside of it, trying to explain it
