Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to find out what the maximum amount of planes per squadron is allowed? I have several aircraft in reserve after disbanding (consolidating) other squadrons.

To avoid this, I'd like to find out where it states what the maximum / squadron size.

Thanks.

It's right on the squadron screen, upper left corner, second line.

It will say something like "93rd Squadron" on the first line, than "Squadron - US (16) on the second line. 16 is the maximum number.

Why are people so motivated to disband and consolidate squadrons? There's no particular reason to do so. ONLY times I've done it is early as the US, when you have a bunch of B-17 squadrons and no replacements...once a couple get down to 4-5 planes I'll disband one so the other has 10-12 planes or whatever.

And if you've got some squadron with 12 aircraft in reserve those aircraft are going to be useless for quite along time...nothing you can do to take it back or undo it, you have to wait for that squadron to lose 12 planes.

Thanks for your reply.

I typically disband units with low ratings into a better unit so the pilots and aircraft can share in their experience.

Hello, In scenario 17 allied side there are 4 groups of B-17's at start. 3 of them fly when asked to but one as far as i have seen never does. I have started to just withdraw it as soon as all AC are repaired and add the planes and pilots to the group with the highest leader rating. Otherwise I do not withdraw groups with the exception of Carrier groups that are force to transfer to land units. (I withdraw not disband. hopefully they will rebuild and rejoin their parent CV when it completes repair. I also sometimes have to combine CV groups to place enough ac on them (then I send empty CV home.)
