The loss of the DD's hurt especially as the bombers I saved on the ground failed to hit a damned thing !!!

36 SBD's made attack runs for zero hits.

My 70+ Nav B skill SBDs pilots cannot seem to hit an enemy warship. Against transports they are competent, but that is it. Not sure what to make of it. Maybe they need much higher overall experience, but with the loss rates, I am not sure how I can replace them given the time it take to develop general experience. For the marine and army squadrons, I currently use a 1 to 1 ratio of training squadrons to operational squadrons. for the CAGs, I have no idea how I will be able to maintain a proficient pilot pool because I can't train them in other squadrons like Japan can. I may ask Q-ball for tips...

So far I have gotten around that by putting a CV worth of Navy aircraft on land and putting 5 Marine Squadrons in their place. I haven't noticed much of a problem with ops losses so far.

Plan is probably for a 2 Corps Assault by Eastern Army straight onto Colombo subject to some recon.

I will follow it up with a 3rd Corps that will embark from Madras after the assault shipping rounds Ceylon and will be used to take Tricomalee and Jaffna in support of the Ceylon based forces

Does this mean that you have decided in favour of Ceylon rather than the push into Burma? If so I would concur.

Yup thought about it I dont need to take risks for now - if Fiji was in more trouble autovictory might have pushed me more in that direction but with Fiji relativelly secure I can afford not to take huge risks elsewhere
