PZB has been heavily reconning PH at a cost of many flying boats - I used that againbsrt him by forming lots of small TF's with 1 or 2 cruiesers and trailed my modern BB's by him a few times so basically he knows (or thinks I have lots of Carriers at Pearl in fact I have 2 CVE's only and a few Land based Sqns....)

2 choices 1. my diversion worked and I can land and get ashore get a couple of AF's up and running and I am in and my LBA can start to grind him down.

or

2. the mother of all carrier battles is about to happen and then we will see how my Hellcats perform....

I have a full Infantry Corps at Darwin ready for phase 2 ther amphibs will unload then load up I Amphib Corps at Darwin to exploit forward.
The next few days and weeks are going to be very very bloody.

If you recall the CVE's sailors called me the butcher in the last game because I took enormous casualties in that class of ship......

Guess what its time to go into the lions den once again.....

To supply darwin you need to keep a draw line from tennant creek up to darwin. First draw a lot of supply to the base south of tennant creek which is connected to the railway by setting required supply to the max. Then set the supply in this base back to normal and set it in tennant creek to the max. After the supply is in tennant creek set the required supply at daly waters to the max and set it to normal in tennant creek. Proceed that way up to darwin and it is no problem to draw a few 100k supply there.

Never the less your assault looks impressive and good luck :)

That was how to do it pre patch 2 it is not nearly as effective any more I need to supply it by sea which is why I have lost about 10AK's resupplying Darwin

10th Air Force supported by 221, 223 and 231 RAF Groups are hitting Magwe tomorrow
5th Air Force units have now forwat deployed to Darwin and Port Hedland ready to secure non carrier led air superiority

The gamble is on I am committed.

The map was a tad ambiguous - are you land where the two arrows point or are those the sides of an arrow enclosing a broad area of bases you are attacking?

Deliberate given what happened in Nemo's AAR I am being a little more cautious than normal.

I have a landing site in mind (several actually) with different TF's and Corps prepped for different sites as my intel was less complete than I would have liked as to defences.

I have a preferred landing site but I need to wait and see if PZB has pushed 2 Divs onto that base I will need to change diredction - c 4 Divs per Corps combat loaded cannot be surte of taking 2 japanese ones on dodgy jungle with lvl 4 or 5 forts at least not quickly

This operation has taken months to set up moving this many ships and convoys south round the bottom of the Marquesas with some going via Capetown and then hiding most of them down in South Australia was a big effort.

The achilles heel is fuel 7th Fleet just replenished to 100% fuel but it empties my replenishemnt TF all 90k fuel (BB's are real gas hogs)

I have about 100k in tankers art Perth with another 200k en route from Capetown/Abadan in the next three weeks.

300k more is at Aukland and can be brought forward.

But 600k fuel in theatre is actually pretty light for a full Fleet Operation

I have sent the AO's back to Capetown to refill but the return journey is about 40 days so 600k is all I have for the next few month so I need to watch full speed sprints.

I have plenty of supplies but would feel a lot better with 2m fuel

One base is not enough if I can get 3 or 4 good sized Airbases each with 2 Divs plus Seabeas and basde forces he will never shift me and I can pull back the fleet and rely on LBA to drive into Borneo and the Celebes or north to Java in 44

Still no sign of KB thats the only thing that has me slightly concerned he has show several small SCTF's to hit me at Darwin and I have shown him weakness buyt letting him interdict my supply routes but I do have 10,000 supply at Darwin now so I can operate air units for a while so I have 300 P38's, P47's and B24's at Darwin with many Marine SBD's and Corsairs eready to move onto newly captured air bases if I can take them

Aye, best to be careful. The guy who deliberately spilled the beans on my AAR is someone I've seen reading yours. So, my advice is not to give ANY further details until you are a day out. I just wouldn't take the risk as by his own words good play is proof of cheating and this hit looks like it is going to be quite successful ( and thus prone to his misinterpretation ).

One query though... Without naming names etc... Are you planning to ship supplies in or are you hoping to supply the landings from bases captured in the Java/Sumatra area.

The ulitmate strategic goal is to pick up where I left off with the Hydra offensive just muinus the CENTPAC bits until I get more carriers.

All my carriers now have F6F's and 70/70 pilots I have lots of supporting air units ready to storm forward the next turn will bring me into strike range and he will 100% spot me if he hasnt already

500k supplies are in follow on TF's with a lot more support units my 1st Amphib TF is all loaded in very fast transports capable of 4/4 moverment this was deliberqate as it gives me a lot of flexibility for the 1st landing wave - it also has a lot of APA's

The biggest weakness will come on the first days landing if the diversion has worked I can safely use my CAG's for CAS with only a few on Naval attack to deal with light SAG's

If it hasnt I need to concentrate more of my force onto Naval Attack.

I have 3 CVE's loaded with nothing but replenishment Gps tomorrow I will unload 50% of those Sqns of SBD's to North Australia this will increase my fighting strength by 80 F6F's as those CVE;s will no longer be overloaded.

I am hoping once he spots me that my ability to sprint the last 8 hexes wil catch him by surprise

The lead amphib TF has a very strong close escort

The Battleships USS Colorado is the flagship with HMS Resoulution in support with 2 Cruisers USS Raleight and HMAS Adeilade plus a mixed TF of 8 RN/RAN and USN Destroyers.

So its well protected but I am still fearfull of a Yamato or Musashi led TF supported by some nasty japanese Cruisers

All my amphib TF's are covered by a similar sized close escort force with more distand protection provided by Ching Lee's fast battleship force
