Level 2 airfields that can grow to level 7. I get it!

If it's in Cosmo, you want to make sure you determine if those are "man" levels or "woman" levels.

Yeah, catching up on 3-4 weeks of AAR reading again.

You've met me, you know I am a geek.

Don't worry, WITP/AE is turn based. It's OK.

Here is a test:

Imagine you are at a fancy Hollywood dinner party. Everyone there is a screenwriter or art director or actor or VP in some NGO. The conversation then turns to your hobbies. You are already suspect because the valet noticed your car did not have a Gore 2000 sticker or Save the Whales sticker.

Now...what do you tell them:

1) I am a civil War reenactor
2) I collect model trains
3) I play a turn-based compter recreation of WWII in the Pacific..oh and China, Burma, and India too.

Dang, Cap! I'm 2/3's as cool as you are. (I just read about the Civil War and visit battlefields, I don't reenact. It might interfere with my home life.)

The first CD emplacements go in at Lautem. Can you spot them?

Why don't we try to get some beach obstacles? Given the very peculiar tilt of the ocean at Lautem, the Jap landing craft will surely pick up speed as they approach the beach and be impaled.

It was ambiguous. He'd have done better talking about 'accentuated curves'.

I like the dual, snub-nose 18 in mount, but I am concerned about the Nazis up top. I was thinking only of contracting out the design/build phase and to leave the crew and support services to the Australians. The thing about the Nazis is, you give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Just look how the Sudetenland thing worked out. See, if we let them run the beach defences at Darwin, pretty soon they will want to open up a beer and brat joint in town, a movie theater for Leni Riefenstahl films and yada, yada, yada.

There are worse things than a beer and brat joint. Nothing better than brats and beer at the Brathouse in Madison, WI!

Situation, Feb. 10, 1942: Nagato and Haruna showed up off the landing beaches at Koumac and gave the defenders all they had, severly damaging 12 Taro plants (arid-adapted hybrids). They had likely been detached from one of the carreir TF's. 3rd Marine Defence Bn. finally solved its Union problems and arrived to do some good damage to vessels still unloading. Both carrier forces are now North of Koumac. The larger group (likely Soryu, Zuikaku and Shokaku) sent a large raid to soften up the defenders of Koumac. They found the Free French Detachment, which despite all the noise is soaring in morale for some reason.

A ground attack raid by Marine SBD's and F4F's was intercepted by 14 Zeroes, losing 12 SBD's and 3 F4F's. One squadron of B-26's enetered the fight, losing one aircraft to little effect. There remained only 6 flyable SBD's out of the orignal 36, although about 85% of the pilots remain. I flew them off the SBD's to Suva for reorgainzation. Everything else at Noumea will stand down today except for CAP.

The Jap 4th Div assaulted the position in Koumac will all sorts of shouting and "banzai" silliness. They achieved only 1:2 and suffered moderate casualties after the arrival of the Marines. This looks good. I have therefore allowed the second Army Regt to continue on to Koumac and will try to get more units into Noumea when the Jap carriers leave. The Japs brought the kitchen sink with them, an Air HQ and plenty of ground support. If they can't dislodge the defenders of New Ullapool, they will have to come back with more or evacuate. New Scotland might become the New Guadalcanal.

What am I foreboded about? One might think it was the situation in New Scotland? No, that is going swimmingly. Luzon? No, other than the mistake of getting 1/3 of my forces trapped in Manila, things are one track. Lautem, perhaps? True, the unloading at Lautem is taking forever and Kaga or some BB's could show up and make it a bd day for Boise and her four-stacker escors (which are on the register of National Historic Places).

But it is none of these things. It is something much worse. My rescue dog, the one with the Rottweiler body and the impossibly small Toy Collie head chewed open a bottle of Maalox and all the Maalox is gone. I fear nothing good will come of this.

Whatever you do, Cap, do not give that dog activated charcoal to counteract the Maalox. Or, if you do, just burn down your house and build another one.

The force builkd up continues at Lautem. Oz armour is moving cross country to Darwin. Two big supply convoys are due in Perth in a fortnight.

Singers still stands. Mandalay is about to be attacked.
