******Burma Ops******

The heavy bombers will pay their first visit to Rangoon airfield to day.

The Vengeances will attack Manadalay

The invasion forces have rendezvoused on the B of Bay (an innovative navigational methodoly I must admit but it works) and will begin their run-in to the landing sites today. It's 13 hexes away (not sure if that's metric or imperial but there you go).

Yes, Yes! I see it now. JJ are EXPECTING a surprise attack so you remove the surprise and it ruins all their pranning for surprise attacks!

It's BRILLIANT!

Legaspi et environs (Luzon): Uncertain what kind of air strength we could offer at at Legaspi, the heavy stuff was ordered to pull back and rendezvous SE of Leyte to be covered by P-38's and P-40K's from Mindanao. Somebody missed the memo and was 80 mi. further North. D'oh! I blame the staff. These Betty drivers are astonishingly competent. I think this was a CD unit and some Sea Bees. Again, we block all mail to Port Hueneme.

Legaspi et environs (Luzon): A very, very, VERY well escorted Betty raid on the landing ships at Legaspi. This raid might have penetrated Wasp's CAP. I count 48 Betty sorties from Clark and it isn't even noon yet. They roast a Large Slow Target and take out some Stuarts and 2 1/2 ton trucks. Gaak. The CAP ar Legaspi is not efficient due to the lack of ammo, aviation fuel and ground support. Other than that, everything is fine.

Morning Air attack on TF, near Legaspi at 82,82

Weather in hex: Clear sky

Raid spotted at 16 NM, estimated altitude 15,000 feet.

Legaspi et environs (Luzon): JJ immediately goes after the vulnerable airfield at Legaspi. They know the routine now. The airfield is operational the day after the paras land. Expertly done counterattacks. I have to give it to them. We need at least two mutually supporting airfields in the area.

Legaspi et environs (Luzon): Not sure I have ever seen an Ida before, but even they are luxuriously escorted. That is nearly 60 Tojo escort sorties from Luzon bases just in the morning. This is a dangerous place.

No more bad stuff happened on Luzon.

Oz: 7th Marine Regt. is trying to make the run from Derby to Darwin. Beaufighters try to cover from Wyndham...nto so much. It might have ben worse if the Bettys went after the AP's. Instead we lose 2 AK's and some trucks. No more trips north of Oz. Too dangerous.

I finally got so tired of annoying emails from a Univ of Calif campus asking me to call the Governor to ask him to raise my taxes again so the UC budget wont be "devastated" that I finally took the time to disenroll from the email list.

I had to do fingerprints and a stool sample (not at the same time thankfully) to disenroll and then they send me an email advising me that someone was trying to disenroll from the email list.

Being a UC grad, I have received the same letters, postcards and emails.....in Minnesota. So, I'm supposed to call up Governor Moonbeam in another state and tell him how his party's unified control of both houses of legislature and the Governor's office should cooperate better together?

And they wonder why California has been losing people for the last decade?

Good news:

Apparently just balsa wood Nells and Helens at Rangoon so far.

Bad news:

There are Tojos, probably on escort duty.

What is the escort range for the Ki-44?

Don't you just love that the fighter sweep with the P-38's FROM THE SAME BASE goes in AFTER the bomber raid?

At least they deigned to participate this time.

Certainly at a dinner party Asparagus syndrome can be annoying, but it really shouldn't bother you through email.

Actually, my main problem at dinner parties is staring too long at breastesses....or if someone says something bad about Ronald Reagan.

My take on JJ right now is the high command may be a bit demoralized. I also have a notion that Admirar Rord Nerson has the Pacific and New Guinea so he is missing out on all the fun.

Alterantively, he really was captured and treated badly by the Comanache.

The nice thing about breastesses (alright, the other nice thing) is that there will be another pair along soon.
