Its also worth to mention that The German Player has a MASSIVE army committed against Russia. I have chosen to retreat until the USA comes online. I made one big mistake by letting him take the Caucuses unopposed. We will see how this turns out. The best thing that would happen to me is if the USA aids the Bordeaux bridgehead and opens a second minor front in Africa.

Well this was a bloody turn for both sides. Not only was there a huge battle in the med but Japan attacked Pearl harbor and San Francisco.

In the Med Grumpy executed a Brilliant attack on my most powerful fleet. and the result was very costly for both sides. He had 10 cruiser II I was expecting at most 5. He did a full encirclement of my fleet and if during the attack my fleet had tried to retreat all of it would have been destroyed. Thankfully that didn't happen. The casualties where heavy on both sides as you can see below.

I did miscalculate a little and my Med fleets where not quite in range to help with the Battle on my turn costing me extra losses and allowing 2 of his CA-II to escape for now.
This is the end of the battle.
as far as I can tell only 2 subs and the two CA-II survived.
However the end result is a victory for me even though it came with heavy losses because he doesn't have the force ratio to contest my control of the Med now.

The beachhead in Europe is still holding on, I wasn't able to blow the bridge this time due to my strike force attacking the wrong side of the river thus allowing his fighters to intercept me. I lost 1 LB and 3 long range fighters. I killed nothing.

Now for the pacific, Japan attacked pearl and sank the Pacific fleet as was expected. He also attacked Halsey at San Fran with 12 subs. The thing is he attacked a turn early so my forces had 40% readiness instead of lower which would have been the case if he had attacked in Nov and it was winter. So his attack at San fran failed and he lost 6 subs and killed 1 CA-I and 2 Destroyers. He does have me trapped in the harbor and I was unable to Break out since my planes only had 40% readiness I did sink 2 subs though.
With my carriers trapped there I created a new unit and moved all my C-Air to it so that if he follows up this attack and does sink my carriers I wont lose all my planes when the ships sink. I am also making all the fighters and carrier air i can but I doubt they will get there in time if he attacks again with the fleets from pearl. I have fleets headed there but they are really too far away to help. The question is does he have enough supply to move to SF and attack and still make it back to a base before my fleets can find him.

I am glad that this was changed in the latest version so the USA wont lose these three carriers on the first turn.

this is his attack on pearl as you can see he really hammered it hard even destroying the coastal defense guns.

You would have to talk to someone that knows how to design these scenarios bro.

Explorer2 added those to this one and I am sure he will read this tomorrow and answer you.

Actually, I didn't create these. They are the very nice work of Bartheart, who let me use them. He also did some of the new desert terrain and some of the different colors for grassland and ocean hexes.
You could ask him for permission to use them if creating a scenario.
They are quite nice, aren't they?

I struck back with the air power I had built but fresh raw planes against veteran Japanese ships and planes didn't turn out to well for me I did kill 5 or 6 planes but i pretty much lost all my newly built planes about 12. altogether I lost about 27 c-air and about 8 FT-III plus the three carrier-II.

Japan already has enough victory points and has only taken 4 objectives in the pacific, the 8 VP he picked up in china is going to make it very hard for me to stop him. I have got to do something to hurt him in china and help china retake those cities.

here you can see that he hasnt taken anything but singapore manila and the two burneo and borne supply centers.

and in north Africa I am continuing to advance towards Tripoli. My fleets are refueling and repairing after that big battle. Losing the Carrier Indomitable is a real blow to me I will miss it in the pacific.

So the situation as stands is we have Germany in a tight spot and are doing well against him. Japan however has a huge advantage right now and I just don't know if he can be stopped.

I am thinking about mass producing Level Bombers and really bombing him hard but I dont know if that will be enough. Maybe i can weaken his hold on the cities and allow china partisans to revolt, to do this I wont be able to put much into my invasion of Europe. Plus I have to produce a ton of PP to get carrier III asap.

he was able to take those two Chinese cities because he has at least 20 artillery II and he is pounding them hard. There isn't much ezto can do to stop it.

so since the victory turn counter for japan in this version is 18 I doubt we can stop him if it was 24 it would still be hard.
But it will be fun and interesting to try.

as you can see Russia is in pretty good shape if anyone would like to take over playing it for me. China however has a tough road ahead of it but maybe the west can help relieve some pressure on it.

I am holding on in Europe but winter has be unable to conduct any attacks. I have plenty of supply and even have reserves of supply and still my readiness is below 50% for most of my units. Now most of my fleet needs resupply too. So I am stopped cold for now.

I have plenty of air power but I cant do a air strike since my air units are at 38% or below readiness.

and a view of the home islands
here all the units are at 50% or below and take note of my supply I am making plenty and have a reserve and still I cant function.
But its just a matter of time in this theater now that the usa is online. But it will be after the winter and into late spring before I can advance any here.

Wavell continues to advance across North Africa and his lead elements have encountered the Italian main force near Benghazi. meanwhile the RN is taking up positions to cut off supply to the Italian army of Africa. But here I am encountering delays , and I cant afford them I don't have time to waste I have to start applying pressure on Japan.
Its important that I clear North Africa ASAP so I can move on to the pacific and have a clear supply lane through the Med. I can also then invade Italy or Greece.
But as much as High Command wants to proceed quickly the facts are that nothing will be finished before summer.
So our timetables have been adjusted accordingly and we will try to be ready to hit japan in midsummer.

a better look at the armies advance

Next turn the navy will take out the port at Benghazi and that will shut down his supply there.
I have gained control here and I just need to slow down and not make any mistakes and i will have this cleaned up on schedule ( the new schedule)

As you can see when I play the west I rely heavily on my navy, In North Africa is a perfect example. My land forces are less then the Italians but my navy will starve the Italians out and my minimal army can clean up.
So with the USA right now every spare production center is cranking out PP's so I can can upgrade to carrier III. Once I have that I can focus all the US production on the west coast to building a pacific fleet.
With africa clear I can start shipping air and land units to the middle east and Australia from the east coast, so I can start Island hoping on japan.

In India I have no pressure on me at all. So I am making all the level Bombers I can to hit Japans supply. Reports from China indicate that Japan has a severe supply situation and anything I can do from here to hurt japans supply will help China.

I have a strong army here but its all defensive. SMG's and machine guns which do not perform well offensively. So I doubt I can do much with it to start while i am building bombers but I am going to try.
As soon as I can build a bridge I will start to advance east with what I have. If successful I can capture Singapore via land and take that duty off my navy. this will also take some pressure off of china.

Now for Russia.

I have thought long and hard on what to do about the situation around Moscow. My defensive perimeter is to long to maintain with the units I have and I have no forces to counter attack with.
So I have decided to abandon Moscow and fall back to a stronger more defensible position. I have built fortification outside of Gorky and will hold the line there with the help of the rivers.
In the north I will build a fortification in the gap between the rivers west of Murmansk and hold there.
