We can press and hold the Alt key. Now the HUD, floating icons and rubberbands are removed until we release. Great for screenshots and videos.

Ever wish for gridded terrain? Press the Delete key to turn it on and off.

Cool! My gridded terrain feature finally made it into a game as a toggleable feature! Great job guys!

What you guys have done with the look and feel of this game is simply amazing; it was always one of its strongest features imo. Kudos. I just hope the gameplay is finally there to complement it, the proposed changes look very promising.

While the interface is loading the scenario there tips and historical events and facts displays. Here is one of the historical events.

Good Hunting.

I just checked Eriks screens and the answer to your question is yes. the Message log is very configurable. Erik has his toggled to show more information. you can toggle the msg log box to pretty large (larger than you see in shots), but also to make it smaller - basicly small enough to just show the four button controls. OR you can toggle it entirely off.

Thanks
rick

Thanks!

one of the older maps, but this shows an air strike bu an IL-2. Visual affects have been scaled for the shell size, and the AI target selection has been improved.

It's dangerous to wander about in the open.

I take it that the ac are still self targeting. Looks nice though to see them actually flying.

yes - they are still self-targetting. But they look and sound great - espcially if you happen to be sitting in the commanders view when a shell lands near by.

OK, more questions.

I've noticed that some of the models are winterised. Do they automatically turn up when a winter background or map is on and are they seasonal?

This release keeps the mode where maps are season specific. ie when someone makes a map, they need to keep in mind what season they expect that map to be used on. Almost all of the models and even most of the textures are specific to a seaon. If I make a winter map, i'll be using winter models, and for summer I'll use summer models.

The units are the same, almost all vehicles now have both summer and winter versions, and infantry have different uniforms - these two are set in the scenario editor.

Not sure I've answered your question, but if not, let me know.

Thanks
rick

Sorry, the dead tree SS was late tonight so this one is a bit early to make up for it.

We did a tremendous amount of research to determine the actual chain of events leading up to the demise of the mouse and it's final resting place.

Here is a comparison shot of Mobius' Maus and the Elephant.

Good Hunting.

The sight ray must intersect a model panel that is sitting on a certain terrain type to give cover. In the case of the tractors they are sitting on a little patch of "wall" terrain. This reduces sighting somewhat provided the tractor model panels are directly between the target and the viewer.

This shot shows just how intense things can get in a phase. This is a 40 second phase. Longer phases would have even more happening in them.

This is from the Soviet perspective. Notice that all units were named with both the commander and unit designations. However, as the Soviet player I only get detailed unit naming and designations for my units, not German ones. FOW in effect during game play.

Trees are turned off in this shot so you can see through the village. Where people live they plant trees. Villages and towns are no exceptions. So, in my village there are lots of trees. I turn them off(F12) to see where everyone is for giving orders.

Good Hunting.
