I'm hoping that it's just the usual fearmongering and sensationalism.

Well if it is, I can link you to pictures of what they're sensationally fearmongering about.

Largish, I would say......

I avoid watching local news because I bet I will see a large, gaudy banner across the bottom of the screen reading "Deathstorm 2010".

I can actually picture that. Sure you're not in local news?

If I am I'll let you know.

So Mike, any news on how Earl is developing?

Not sure which Mike you are asking, but the answer will be the same: as long as it keeps going north, shouldn't be a major problem. Onime is the one worrying right now.

I just read some news on Swedish TV saying that NC was supposed to hit quite hard. Ok, the news was from this morning, so I thought I should ask for developments.

I didn't know you're a Mike as well ...

Outer banks will get plenty of surf and wind and rain. That's far from us. And by Saturday when USS, Historiker and I will be heading to Wilmington and the USS NC, Earl will be drowning Onime.

Dude, surf is definitely UP! 12-14 foot waves on the coast. Cowabunga, homey! Some gnarly waves, some tasty bud-what else do you need?

Dude, how would you know? You're in Buttcrack, MN.

'tard.

'cause I can read a satellite map of the Hurricane with surf height on it, maybe?

For those of you following the storm...what's the ETA on the canabalistic zombies that will inevitably follow the natural disaster?  72 hours later?  28 days later?

You might not be alone in that thought....... But then again, your not in SoCal, so NYC is definately an improvement!

I also live in (what I've been told is one of the) highest point of Long Island, so I'm not really afraid. I'm sure it will recede eventually.

A whole 3 feet above sea level, are ya? Mountainous....

It's still open and I daresay we could find some sort of nun based tomfoolery.  Or perhaps we should have a different theme for each incarnation?  Maybe Tibettan monks or the pope?

Should I assume that I am or am not included in that category?

I'm sure that I want to see the pope in any sort of "tomfoolery" related pics even less than Tibettian monks.

Now now. In the interests of demonstrating even handed humorous treatment of all religious icons, we should consider the option of adding in some Ayatolla or other cleric here. Same with a Shinto priest, Vishnu and / or a rabbi. And guru ma. Definitely a cult icon-literally.

Yes, the combination of tomfoolery and wood is a bad, bad thing.......

We're caught in a trap,
I can't walk out,
Because I love you too much, baby...

Why can't you see,
What you're doin' to me,
When you don't believe a word I say...
