Hi all,

To answer your question - usually both the men and women just switch to the wedding ring. This one is usually a little more gaudy (for the woman) than the engagement ring which is just a plain gold ring.

Same here.

We here usually (99.99%) wear same plain wedding golden rings (i.e. those are just same rings for both husband and wife but different sizes due to finger sizes). The rings for both husband and wife are worn on left hand. BTW, IIRF, this is similar as in Austria and southern Germany.

As for engagement ring they are only bought for future wives and they are worn on right hand. Also those rings are not "plain" as wedding rings - they can be quite elaborate. Please note that engagement ring can be worn after wedding as well...

Finally gathered my courage to continue my WitE game, and the blizzards have just begun. I feel like I'm standing at the bottom of a mountain wondering what the rumbling noise is...

Does that make the Fleahawks over .500 on the season now or do they still need to win 2 more to get there?

not yet....it just makes the "Fleahawks" the team that sent home last year's Superbowl champions in a high scoring game.

Guess there must have been a Starbucks franchise in the Saints' end zone. I assume your earlier comments mean that the Fleahawks played against the New Orleans Saints, LogBoy?

Yep. Pretty hilarious. Even my GF, who HATES sports that don't involve equine athletes, became interested when the highlights played. As the rasberry throwers continue to repeat.....by dint of the NFL rules, any and all "Division" winners automatically go to the the playoffs. Seattle is the first team in history to go to the playoffs with a losing record (only other time i think was during a shortened player strike season way back), and now i guess it can be added they are the only team to both win a playoff game anyway and upset a super-bowl contender (one article placed New Orleans as the #2 best team in the playoffs)

Noone thought they had a chance except maybe one local radio personality. I think alot of people lost money yesterday. Bonus on top of that.....game occured on a saturday so i should be assured a traffic jam free trip to my favorite pub with the "gang" in tow.

and yes...the gang currently still includes our "guest" who stayed for dinner. He's a real hit at the pub.

Saw that game yesterday. Good game & awesome running game that gave the Seahawks that last TD. Congrats, Nik!

Mon francais est tres bien.

Going to try and go over the Millau bridge too, that looks cool. Thinking if we do Pompey-Caen ferry we can drive down to Le Mans and then go via Tours. 10 hour drive, do it in 1 day down and maybe 3 or 4 back stopping off in the Loire valley.

Was watching the Star Trek movie where they promoted Worf and made him walk out the plank to claim his new hat. A small vignette, for sure, but just so cool. Somebody who knew ships had a hand in that little scene.

Capt. Pickard, with that almost genetic French insouciance and je ne sais quoi; “Just imagine, Will, a life at sea in the old days; no engines, no computers, just the stars to guide you.”

Cmdr Riker, with that almost genetic British aplomb and gift for understatement; “Yes, Sir; nauseating food, brutal discipline, no women.”

Well that was an exciting game. Guess the Eagles is none to happy with their punter. Two missed FG's and the game ends 16-21.

... and with that, I'm off to bed. Good night friends

You guys are so lucky living so close. I am very envious. My favorite places in France are in Poitou/Charente, Aquitaine - Gironde, Dordogne, Charente, Charente Maritime.

I hear Languedoc is exquisite this time of year; you have Carcassonne, and Montauban right next door, so to speak, and Tarbes is what? 100 km away. Wouldn't mind trading places with you for a holiday.

I think their placekicker, David Akers, is in the doghouse. Their punter did OK, IMO. Still, they're the Eagles, so good riddance, however they lose.

That was one of the most spirited runs I've ever seen. Just fantastic.
