DELL Computers (sales and service) SUCKS!!!

My employer buys Dells exclusively. Yes they suck.

Yeah, mine does too... after today, i am going to see if i can influence them not to. That should cost Dell a few hundred K/year if i can. Doubtful, but i'll give it a shot.

I've always had a dell and can't complain. My wife is an apple lover....She wants an all in one apple that we can run windows and her mac crap on....should I take the plunge?

I've had excellent success with VMWare Fusion running XP.

Ditto. I run AE in Fusion and it works great. I bought Win7 for more graphics-intensive games but thats a different story.

Not that I've heard. And I think (dont quote me on this) that they still come with the 1 year warranty.

You can spend 3k if you want. That'll get you a beast of a Mac Pro.

Don't know about refurbished issues....they tend to be well-made devices, so refurbished makes some sense, providing it is done properly.

Just had a great lunch with my wife and a good family friend who came over for the first time since Christmas.  I think it's time to win the Powerball jackpot.  I could get used to this not working thing.

They have a different opinion of strong defences and heavy combat. I daresay that those of you out there with infantry training have a different opinion to mine of those things as well.

Well, if somebody is pointed a twin-barrel 23mm anti-aircraft gun at me, then I'd call that a pretty strong opponent...

Bah. Any calibre less than 40mm is for wimps.

Yeah, but I don't belive any Rolands were ever pointed at me. The Sa-2 were with great frequency. It kinda of gives you a negative impression of them!

We are currently in the market for a fulltime administrative assistant. I posted addvertisements in both Monster.com and Career Builders.com. Within a week we received almost 600 resumes ! And of course the vast majority of them did not match the job description. Oh well.

So are you saying I should not have submitted my resume, listing all of my software QA and customer support experience?

Should I have listed my measurements instead?

Yes indeed !

The machine itself is OK - but i've had an extraordinary run with the sales and service department. They have lied/misrepresented things at every turn. i am seriously thinking of getting rid of my machine so that i won't have to do business with them in the future.

Yes they definately did. And it was VERY personal. Have your neighbor point a loaded shot gun at your head while you work in your yard. It's very much the same feeling.

Just finished watching The Ritchie Boys, a documentary about mostly Jewish immigrants who were considered "enemy aliens" at the beginning of WW2 - then got drafted and assigned to Army intelligence! (There were a few US raised guys in the unit as well).

It was pretty interesting some of the stuff they told. One story was they pretended to have interrogated "Hitler's Latrine Orderly", Private XYZ who had "highly significant intelligence about the Fuehrer's genitals".

Well, the guys at HQ all thought it was pretty funny, however, someone sent the report on to the US... a few weeks later, some Colonel from the Pentagon shows up and wants to speak to the non-existent latrine orderly... they related at his point they got into "a lot of trouble"...

Years later, one of them said he was reading a British book about the history of the war, which recounted the "amazing intelligence coup the Americans got when they captured and interrogated Hitler's Latrine Orderly, Private XYZ(and gave the name they made up for him.)

What is it with all these air defence types all of a sudden? The biggest weapon I ever fired was the Carl Gustav 84mm RCL.

Colt .45 chambered down to shoot .22 rounds in boot camp is the only weapon I've ever fired.
