So who will be watching the women's soccer world cup? Everyone of you, I assume.

I will of course watch the women's fotball world cup.

Hopefully it is not so exiting that I pull all my hair out watching it.

It is after all a hair pulling sport.

The week in pictures: 24 June 2011

By Telegraph UK

An anonymous owner of a Porsche 911 donated his troublesome car to a local gun club rather than pay more than $20,000 to have it fixed. The wealthy motorist was so fed-up with the car's constant engine problems he was happy to see 140 members of the Massachusetts club Comm2A fire 10,000 bullets into it. Photographer and gun enthusiast John Beauchemin says: "By the end of the shoot, the Porsche was so perforated that it was folding in half under its own weight. It was hauled off to the junkyard on a flatbed."

Yeah, that's just wrong, right there... For one thing, it says "Carrera" on the back...

Hoax?

It is a well-known fact that the common farmyard Chicken has no intentions what-so-ever (ever).

Carrera is the "base model" 911.

I'll have to see if I can find my favorite Far Side online, but I still carry it around on a page from a daily calendar, from around 1994.

As an aside, our current grocery list includes an entry for "good boy cookies"

Indeed, Guards Red. I still use this picture from the dealership as my phone wallpaper from time to time.

I was actually up at 0600 with my wife this morning, to make coffee for her.  I almost stayed up for the day, but thought I would go back to sleep for another hour or two.  I woke up at 1445.

We're going to try vegan for 3 weeks. But not until after the July 4th barbie.

my advice is to stay AWAY from the "veggie" hot dogs. I tried one on Friday and was nauseous the rest of the day. I don't know what they put into that thing but i'll take a good old fashioned Beef hotdog any day from now on.

Hi all,
How are pictures handled in those eBooks (and are there any or is it always just pure text)?

Leo "Apollo11"

Very nice. The DX has the new improved eInk Pearl screen with 50% better contrast over other Kindles. See for yourself. Shattered Sword has alot of pics to go with the text.

Now now...it isn't for bland historians. Other's might like it's anecdotal nature.

Thanks for info Nik!

BTW, I looked in Wikipedia for Kindle and your KindleDX is considered mix ox 2nd and 3ed generation whilst pure 3rd generation should be newer than your KindleDX.

Is this correct?

Also is it correct that your KindleDX (i.e. mix of 2nd and 3rd generation) has better picture quality than pure newer 3rd generation Kindle?
