Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time to skip the light fandango and chase cartwheels 'cross the floor.

Later, taters!

What do you want it to be a picture of?

I think of a F4U or F6F but I'm not sure if I can just take a picture somewhere, because of copyright and stuff...

That's not a problem, so long as you're not using it commercially.

Yes. I've some ideas. Check with Tom Label or Large Slow Target for some memorable pictures that you could use for your signature. Aces 8 may have some ideas for you as well.

It's scary how unbelievably cruel the Germans acted towards the Belgian civilian population during WWI. We consider the German atrocities during WWII to be extraordinary, and they were, but they were not the first.

I think some of that can be attributed to the Franco-Prussian War. A German point of view was that many soldiers were shot by soldiers not in uniform, so much so that the German military adopted a draconian stance towards civilians. Retribution for perceived resistance was brutal and more inline with the Thirty Years War than progressed 1914 European behavior. Some of the Allies action in regards to civilians in Africa was also brutal during WWI, perhaps a hangover from the Boer War. I've not examined that enough to be sure.

If one wished to understand Camus and the absurd; WWI is a great place to start. At least in my opinion. I'm reading The Great War and Modern Memory by Paul Fussell, the book has some interesting insights.

Goes back even further than that; Clausewitz advocated terror against civilians. Of course, it never, EVER worked.
