One of the advantages of being in a "Southern Hockey Market" is that Hurricanes fans have developed a huge tailgating tradition. We tailgate in January and February, sometimes in shorts.

Status: offline 		Thanks for the kind words guys.  Sadly this isn't the first of my relatives who's had a similar thing happen to them

I'm now not going to Cyprus, after spending yesterday running about like a blue-arsed fly and tearing apart several rooms looking for various things.  At least my desert kit is all in one place now, I didn't realise how much of it I had.  It looks like enough to kit out the entire 8th Army   There's far more there than I really could've used, even after I'd ditched a lot of the extra stuff.

Now that you have your kit assembled, keep it together, and you should not get the call to go again.

Cyprus is a dump. Got knifed there.


I've had nothing but good average experiences there. Some good times and tomfoolery, but mostly it's another foreign place where I went to spend a night. Not as good as Crete, Calgary or Washington DC. Probably better than Bangor (MA, not NW). Steer clear of the dodgy taxis (some of them) and strip clubs (all of them) and the chances of getting into trouble are reduced.

Recife on the other hand, was scary at night. Plus Cyprus would seem pretty good when my other destination was a mountain based desert airfield with angry men putting on occasional fireworks displays.


I gotta stick up for Steve here.....What's wrong with Bangor, ME?..........................

Status: offline 		Just read a post in the main AE forum that reminded me it's impossible to rationally understand the actions of an irrational person.  Why would anyone count the number of clicks it takes them to put ships into drydock in one turn?  

If you focus on the negative things that is all you will see.  You will never have time to enjoy or even notice the positive things in life.    He needs more rum punch!
