Air Group Special Load: Air Groups loaded onto an aircraft transport (an AKV, or CVE) are not
disabled on load, and will arrive at their destination in the same condition as when loaded.

I can't get this to work. As soon as I load an air group into an AKV, all planes become disabled. I tried to put the AKV in a cargo, transport, and air transport TF; docked as well as undocked. I can't tranfer the planes to the AKV via the air group screen either (as you can do when moving an air group on a CV), as the AKV doesn't show up in the "Pick destination ship" screen.

Does someone know how this works? Or is it a bug? Saves are available...

But when trying to transfer the groups from the air group screen- have you tried the transfer to docked ship?- and is your air transport/transport task force docked?

Yup.

BTW, Don Bowen also confirmed that the size of the ship matters. E.g. if it's a big squadron of big planes on a small AKV they might need to get loaded 'as cargo' (meaning not ready) just to fit.

On normal cargo ships, yes - but not with AKVs which are special aircraft transport ships. On AKVs your squadron will unload at the destination port in fully assembled mode. I believe that they are listed as "disabled" while on the ship so that there is no chance that the program will try to fly them during the voyage...

Status: offline 		AKV is made for it. But it must be large enough (and larger planes take up more space), sorry I don't know the formula.

I checked, and a squadron of medium bombers has just unloaded undamaged from an AKV. Nice feature...
