I still hope an admin looks at this, if any still show up. There is obviously some problem that caused the save file to vanish for people apparently buying the game recently. BTW, I tried it before updating, too, when I reloaded it, and the save file was not there. So it does not seem to be a problem with the update but with the basic program being sold for download right now. I am new to the game. I've looked at it since it came out, but my computer was old even then and I figured it would not run. But now I have a new computer and with the sale I bought this game and a couple more. I was on the edge of just giving up on it when I happened to see the thread about the save file and just on a hunch checked to find my save file and found out it wasn't there. Glad I stumbled onto a solution. I had another problem, too, I will note, that might help someone. I could not get the game to size for my widescreen (1600x900), and it would not retain the settings I created, for example, I always turn the music off on games, and even if I set resolution at 1600x900, it would still just play in the box in the middle of my screen and would run like that but would not resize, and if I went out and came back in, all my preferences would be reset to default, for example the music would be turned back on. I decided to try to run it in compatibility mode (I'm running Win 7 64-bit) and saw when I went there that "Run in 640x480" was checked under the compatibility tab. Huh? I did not do that. The game installation program apparently did it. So I unchecked that check and did nothing else and immediately the game responded to my preferences and is running great at 1600x900. So maybe that tip will help someone. Maybe there is a note about that somewhere in the forum but I didn't see that one.
