Conspiracy theories in general are quite interesting.

The tools you need to really believe in one are a weird mixture of overestimating
the capabilities of one side, underestimating the capabilities of the other side,
biased preferrence of one explanation over another, a heavy dose of paranoia, and,
last but not least, "them" who fill all the gaps left open in the chain of logic.

One of my favourites is still this one...

Bah! I'll see your hollow earth and raise you reptiles from space that are secretly ruling the planet

http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/biggestsecret/biggestsecretbook/biggestsecret03.htm

WTF???

Dixie, tell me this biggestsecret/biggestsecretbook/biggestsecret thing is a joke. Thats nearly
too good to be true.

"As Manly P. Hall, the Freemasonic historian, wrote:

“While the elaborate ceremonial magic of antiquity was not necessarily evil, there arose from its perversion several false schools of sorcery, or black magic...."

I have no doubt we can trace OBLs emergence as a terrorist back to these events.

I remember a version of that one from the late 1990's. At that time, Bill Clinton and the British royal family were their main co-conspirators. I wonder who they are today?

I was informed by a member of the "Tin-hat brigade" that it was a "Royal Family-Canadian-Masonic" conspiracy for world dommination! (WTF??? Canadians???).When I told him I belonged to one of the groups and hadn't got the memo yet, but would get back to him when it arrived, he left me alone.

Actually, not only did my ancestors escape from there, I did as well. I escaped from one of your lesser known colleges (now a university). Although to be fair, they really didn't try hard to keep me there. (I almost got the impression that they were glad to see me go. Several of my lecturers offered to drive me to the airport).

Actually, between those Sadam killed, victims of terroism, and Sectarian gang viloence , that might add up. But the Allied forces? Not a chance. Not even 5% of that.

But Steve, don't you realize that Saddam, the terrorists, the sectarian gangs, and all the multi-national Allied forces were in cahoots to kill as many civilians as possible?

Braedonnal,

What happened is that people decided to engage with the trollers by engaging in absurdism. Of course then some people took that too far and now even sad things ( let's assume the 5% of 900,000 figure is right, that's 45,000 dead unarmed civilians ) are being dismissed willy nilly. Such is the net though.

Seriously though, they are verging close to the truth with the whole Masonic?Canadian/Repilte thing. Yes, I can herein confirm that our Semi-Reptilian, Canadian-born King is actually CHUCK NORRIS!!!!!

You know, every year when Chuck Norris' diary gets published they have to change all references to him and call it The Guinness Book Of Records. That's how awesome he is.

Did you know Chuck Norris will never suffer from a heart attack?

His heart is simply too foolish to attack him.

Did you know that the IJN attack on Pearl Harbour had a COA of scuttling the Combined Fleet if rumours of Chuck Norris' birth were confirmed before they launched.

One of my faves: There used to be a street called Chuck Norris but they had to change its name cause NO-ONE crosses Chuck Norris and lives !!!

America isn't a functioning democracy. You don't ELECT President's, Chuck Norris, our semi-reptilian, Canadian, masonic King just chooses an assistant from the list of candidates to help him every 4 years.

I know everybody here is upset already but claiming there would be only a couple of ten thousand death since the invasion in Iraq is the same as saying Adolf Hitler is still alive. If we are talking about killed by bombs and bullets, we sure not going to reach the 1 mio deaths of civilians but it´s not only the bombs and bullets, every war KILLS people due to other reasons too and if the red cross estimates above 1 mio deaths being directly related to the WAR there, then we should all take off our blinders and stop thinking it would not be a tragedy to those people who live there because the majority of them is not responsible for what Saddam nor Osama did. I pity both the people in Iraq, in Afghanistan or any other country a war is raging. And while I would love to see Western democratic systems and life standard in all those countries like Syria, Jordania, Iran, Northern Korea, etc. etc. I still think that these dictatoric systems are still better than to live for years in a country where a war is raging. A war is never great nor good.

I also think it would have been better to arrest Osama and take him back to the US and then take him to court with the result being obvious anyway. And no, I am not an Osama fan.

Besides that, this thread is 8 pages old now and has been pretty much a political discussion since page 2.

No - for my part I was referring to the absurdly inflated claim, not the fact that many people died. I believe such claims must be called what they are and rejected. The reality is what we should deal with.

witpqs,
Aye, I understood your post wasn't stating that. Others sailed a little closer to that particular minefield but I don't think they would, outside of the heat of a thread, actually hold the view they seemed to espouse.

Now, let's get back to the really important stuff, How Chuck Norris PROVES there's no such thing as evolution....

Did you know there's no such thing as evolution? There's just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.
