About FY, As the official team has announced they will treat the last bugs in the following weeks, I just want to inform I've squashed most of those related to data in FY in the last months, by using my QA definitive weapons: Scriptreport, mainlog and NOTEPAD. On this point, FY is more advanced than the official version.

I would have had advanced tools, the better. Howewer, it's not because i lack appropriate tool I will not do.

No 2 portraits for curious "units": one named conscription, another named "emancipation". I'm searching the models. Thanks

Units are not precisely my specialty, will try my best, and in case needed will request help in AGEod forum

Do you remember FL Illustrated history of the Civil War? One graphic is in your design notes pdf file

Now there are also available the 2 vols. of The soldier in our Civil War, also full of graphics for events, ideas,...

Oh, it will just be like leader portraits. You know AACW hasn't a real option system, so I will use these units like in the KY case, the presence of this unit on the map activating the options... So i'm searching a slave liberated of his chains and something small evocating conscription: 3 drawings like leader portraits.

Thanks for the links. :-)

And don't worry, I'm sure you would get help on AGEOD forum.
BTW, if their new projext is NCP 2, doing AI files like mine will need about 500 ko of events files at best, certainly 750. On 15 years, 7 major factions battling in whole Europe is huge. Just for assessing the 1812 Russian campaign, the number of events is at least the whole WHI, WH3 RUS AI events number. Then you have to take into account spome plausible variants, like a more powerful Sweden allied to France...I let you imagine for England. Possible but with at least IMHO one year to complete and test. Of course, they have maybe better methods to fasten the work or do the same with less events. We'll see. At best, it will be a game I could enjoy without modding it.Like BOA

Oh, portraits, I thought they were units like this one

If they are leaders I think there will be no problem.... If you remember already did a few though not identical to the leaders portraits of the game

Who is that man, is there any pic with better resolution?

From Wikipedia:

Robert Smalls (April 5 , 1839–February 23, 1915) was an enslaved African American who, during and after the American Civil War, became a ship's pilot, sea captain, and politician. He freed himself and his family from slavery on May 13, 1862, by commandeering a Confederate transport ship, the Planter, to freedom in Charleston harbor. He was born in Beaufort, South Carolina, and eventually became a politician, serving in both the South Carolina State legislature and the United States House of Representatives. During his career, Smalls authored legislation that created in South Carolina the first free and compulsory public school system in the United States, founded the Republican Party of South Carolina, and convinced President Lincoln to accept African-American soldiers into the Union army. He is notable as the last Republican to represent South Carolina's 5th congressional district until 2010.

I wanted an Afro-American who acted during Civil War to get his freedom, to alter the conventional image of people passively waiting Whites settle the dispute about them

Here a better image I think, let me know if you need yet better

BTW, you're not the first to point out AI seems to play like human player. Of course, it's not always the case, But yet today, I feel sometimes I wouldn't have done differently. The key is to understand how AI works and not to ty to teach AI how human is playing

Fitskhelaurov force were encicrcled by the AI and defeated. Remaining force have half supply, but one red detachment with good amount of force decided to capture the only supply source fro whites, Mikhailovka. Most probably Fitskhelaurov will be eliminated Currently AI is much better than previous version of the mod. I think it is very important to fine tune city priorities and enemy forces size when she decides to interfere/attack more cleverly.

Don't worry, AI will make some huge mistake later. It isn't big blue. It's blue . Not green too, a bit more seasoned.

On things as complex than AI, you need time and work to obtain results.

On things as complex than AI, you need time and work to obtain results. I know the fashion is more currently on Pharaonic projects led by ignorant people defining themselves as volunteers to expose endlessly great ideas and concepts when they don't even imagine how much difficult is to implement some little changes to AI or game balance. I will remain craftworking, on FY,SVF, and DNO.

Nowadays in Pc gaming there are good games designed but unfortunately AI is lacking, as it needs additional work and time. İt is pity that Pbem/Multiplayer community in Pc gaming desert pretty much fast to other games. So all the designs looks as half cooked for quick deserting of players and the by the urge to be quick about anything fro developing games. When there is few pbem/multiplay community only chance to play the game against the poor AI .Which is not desirable. Thats why I didnt play much ACW. Even that is a great game. That why Ageod and you should work together. There is no need for additional seperation.
But I think more challanging early part is crucial in RUS because as most probably AI will make mistakes when the theatre gets bigger.

As for allied aid option: I have chosen the option and received the artilery but FI level jump from 8 to 10 in 2 turns. I think it should be opposite as written in the description.

Not a bug, but I had delayed the AIL loss after November 18. So you should get the loss after November 18. In any case, this point being confusing and unnecessary, the loss will come in the next turns following the choice of this option.Uploaded a new version with this rule change.

Thanks Clovis . I did think about it but when the FI jumped to 10 I got suspecious. I also think the loss should be rather quick as the whites have problems arranging replacements. Early game choice of the option would also become a winning/losing situation in Pbem or in any other game against harder AI.

First bug is that I have read in mail but I couldn't find in your blog after looking that you find something disturbing. But I really think you and Ageod should achive great things in wargaming. But Im pretty sure you will be more restricted about the things you would like to say or improve with budget restrictions. But nonetheless I think you shouldn't evaluate yourself with other moderators. You have the knowledge and skill to do everything.

No, but I removed this post for now, because once I have written it, I've suddenly discovered how much I'm right. So much I don't bother anymore. And there's no one reading this thread to spy my behaviour here

And for the rest, I've let some months ago to AGEOD a rather long explanation of the basics of my AI work. They have the RUS files too. The only thing I don't understand, that's why they haven't used this in PON. So they don't need me to do the same. I have not removed my posts

For me, I want to play AACW, so SVF is the priority, now I may play Fatal Years. Then DNO. Then the AGEOD game, if any, if the AI is on par with mine. If not, and If the game is pleasing me...modding it.Between, if I have time, ROP. I've seen some very interesting proposals for replacements by a player on the forum. Even if I slighty disagree on some points, it's a very clever efforts. I can't commend him on the official forum, and that is the only thing I regret.

Let them in peace.Seriously, now fabula acta est. I feel dice have rolled and, whatever the result, ignored by me, the future is yet written. For me, I've my agenda and I'm going to fulfill it ASAP. For them, success or failure, the sad truth is I don't care.

Don't forget about DNO to give me your advices about the scenario. I will myself introduce some features like rail conversion and certainly naval mines for Petrograd. NOw, some of you have certainly other ideas...

In which post in Ageod forum you have find good replacement system ideas about ROP ? And it would be excellent that Rop will be more playable with more balanced type of replacements.
And I think in Drang scenario there is new agoed rule in place about not concentrate big stacks in uncivilized regions. I think there is some supply decay. I have found my German 600 000 K army was losing more supply than from previous rule. Though there needs. confirmation.
if you decide to improve the AI in Drand scenario just take a deep breath and rest before doing so. There are many units and big geography that you know better. But if AI would be more carefull with your scripts in the early turns I think at least player can have longer game. But That is excellent scenario. Thanks

ROP:

http://www.ageod-forum.com/showpost.php?p=212989&postcount=116

Note I will not discuss ROP here, as it isn't a game sold by Matrix. I will not discuss it on any Paradox forum. So I will have to find a solution. But there's always a solution

OK. I plan for DNO to implement 2 German strategies: a classic Barbarossa, and the Erik Marks plan he proposed in 1940.

The real challenge is RED. They are much weaker than in 1941, if possible...

Thanks

So far the game is a real challange against Reds. They are chasing whereever I go. Trotsky launched an attack early to Pskov and defeated northern white forces. After that they decided to declare war on Balts.(In that turn Polish forces move the north. I think they anticipated what was coming ! Reds also very much responsive and hostile against Cossack insurrection forces north of Don, I still didnt control Don and the southern Don. Currently FI level is 8 in 1919 jan and I have only received 40 money from the allies.
About area penalty of units. Don cossack concript units have much better ability in fighting but they cost less versus white concripts.
And after selecting Liberal option fro Southern whites in the next turn there was a message both Liberals authorized and banned for southern whites.
