Travix,

Then it's a bug. Post it in the tech support sub-forum along with a save game so Michael can see about fixing it.

I should have some data on this in a couple of days. I just creamed Tabiteuea with the Yamato and other BBs in my PBEM game with rjopel and will see if I can rearm the Yamato with what I have positioned. I am not going to give any details right now as rjopel reads this forum regularly, but once I have tried what I am going to try, I will post here
.

So where do I need to send my subs to check on this reloading activity?

I could just sent them back to use up all that ammo. They did pretty good the first time with just the secondary guns.

Ok, so subs at both locations. Got it.

Ok, got the Yamato TF (4 BBs, 4xCA, 4x CL, 4x DD) to turn around and paste the island again, this time with night spotters, which worked well. Here is what the Yamato looked like going back to port: (BTW, all images are heavily censored to protect ongoing operations so my opponent can participate in this conversation if he wishes.)

I am using Truk (which is no secret to my opponent)

I have three large AKEs there. Here is what they were before the Yamato's arrival:

Here is the Yamato after the rearm along with the AKEs:

It should be noted that Truk has naval support of 540 and is port size 6.

Hope this gives you enough information.

Hmmm...Is Yamato alone or are there other ships in your TF? Could the port be resupplying the big guns and the AKEs lesser guns and other escorting ships? Biggest test would to be at a level 1 port with the AKEs only. However, your Munda test seems to make a case for at least partial arming as it was only level 3.

Do you have a save from the turn before they got to port? You could break off Yamato and try again with just her (or is this a PBM)?

Perhaps he would consent the test on the side (in another folder on both your PCs)?

that seems to be an anomoly. According to the manual a size 6 port should need 1148 nav support to rearm the main guns. You only have 570. I don't believe there is a tender in the game large enough to rearm those guns if you go by the manual. I would next try rearming with no tenders present at that port. That way you could see if the port was rearming more than it should.

I thought maybe the posted example was a result of augmentation (as in an ake or ae can help a port rearm even when the ake or ae is not large enough to rearm by itself and thus a port not large enough can rearm with the help of an ake or ae)

But no: AKEs and AEs cannot enhance or augment a port’s capability to rearm weapons [forum post by Don Bowen on 4/28/2010].

Perhaps it works the other way around then, with ports and nav support augmenting AE/AKE's.
