Oh, he's grinding, you can be sure of that. James will attack up and down the length of the line and squeeze every MP he can into getting his licks in. It's not just about pockets for him. His infantry will be pounding away everywhere. James does everything possible to stress the enemy's replacement capacity. When you fight him, you are fighting the entire Wehrmacht, not just a few panzers.

James, tell me I'm wrong. I dare you.

We all do that in 1941 then in 1942 we grind morale.

When poeple play me they run so its hard to grind at all from The Land Bridge to Rostov as you know.

I do see a slight differrence in play style or where he puts most of his ground pounders, which I will do in my next game.

I've played both of you, and no, you don't. Not like James. He is hyperaggressive. I found you much more tentative with your grunts.

This turn, I made a mud assault against the Moscow pocket's airbase. One of the defending Rifle divisions surrendered, while the other retreated into Moscow's Heavy Urban hex. Most importantly, the airbase was displaced, meaning no more airhead supply to the remaining trapped forces.

Getting 3.5 million is better then average these days. Most games see deaths in the 2.8 to 3.2 million range.

Q-Ball can still hit 6.5 million by June 42.

The main thing is you took Moscow.

This manpower hit will very much slow the growth of the Red Machine even if he takes it back. You can easyly retake it 42. There are also allot of manpower centers in south you will be able to over run come summer.

You look to be in good shape going into 42. I am guessing Q-ball will go hvy on rifle divisions for 42 so you should be able to push him around where you like.

Good job so far.

Pelton

Great AAR. I haven't played the game in a while, so may I ask: what's "grinding" mean?

Attacking to get favourable casualty ratios + morale effects + some ground perhaps. Think WW1 style rather than blitzkreig.
