He was 4th in the last (Medal) race and retained overall 5th position <SIGH>... the British sailor won the gold...

Not exactly, the 21 is non flying and likely to remain so. However it does belong to 1 Sqn who kept it as part of a museum collection they have. It's not uncommon for RAF squadrons to have various artifacts from their past, but AFAIK that's the only unit to keep a Spitfire! There's a part of the Tirpitz that (currently) resides with 617 for example.

If I was only 40 years younger, knowing what I do now. Would enjoy trying to whack his young butt and having a couple with him at the Yacht Club post-race �liars club�.

He has done you proud, Leo. May not have got a medal this time around, but that's boat racing. Rest assured, people know who he is.
