ORIGINAL: Dixie Afternoon chaps Looks like your favourite Limey is going to be on TV. No, not sprior. Or Goodboyladdie. Obviously they've fast tracked me, I'm far too big-time for regional news. Instead I'm hitting the national news on the BBC no less. Presumably this is something to do with the RAF employing the less-able elements of society, such as myself Or it's to do with the passing of the last Battle of Britain veteran. Martin, you'll have to let us know the details of the broadcast when you know them. BBC News at 6pm. I was in shot for seconds. Literally seconds! I have to say that the archive footage used was a bit poor. I don't remember the Luftwaffe sending formations of Flying Fortresses against the airfields or Fighter Command using P-47s. Or the Luftwaffe using Bf-109G fighters. Oh well, now I just sit back and wait for the requests to flood in. I expect to be opening a hospital this time next week Wow! I just had a thought of what a P-47 would'a done against some flying pencil or He-111. Well, a man can dream, can't he? As for those B-17s: Sorry about that, mate. We musta got turned around en route to the reich or somesuch. Coming to a film near you soon! Das Munich Belle, the story of how 10 young men from America won the Battle of Britain for Germany, becoming the first crew to finish a tour. But then they realised their mistake and fought for the Brits before returning home to the US and joining the USAAF to defeat Japan. Could be a good project for Tom Cruise? Or Ben Affleck, I admire his previous work in historical dramas.
