Hi Leo, beautiful pics, as always. I love that white, frosty, dusting. Know it can get a bit wearing, and hope you guys are dealing with it.

It's beautiful here in So Alabama, 16 C, sunny, with high cirrus, SW breeze at 9 kts. Typical, beautiful, January day on the Gulf Coast.

So took Beaudy, the Wonder Dog, to get a haircut, and went shopping. There's this place (Morries) that has chickens, and I got a fat roaster, and cut it up, and stripped off the skin because it had a thousand pin feathers on it. And divided it into halves.

First half, I'll broil, with basmati rice, roasted green beans, and sugar biscuits.

Ciao. JWE

Hi all,

quote:

Just teething problems maybe, didn't the new airbus A380 have problems with it's Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines at the start?

quote:

ORIGINAL: Terminus

It's still got plenty of problems from what I hear.

The A380 is longer in service and that has, somewhat, less problems (there was exploded engine in one flight - that aircraft is still out of service and there were some micro cracks inside wing ribs)... but B787 was mandatory grounded... this is much more serious issue...

Never knew that Leo. Beaudy the Wonder Dog is from a foster home in Birmingham. I do a lot of patent work for NASA in Huntsville. So kinda know the area. My sister is in Prattville, just North of Montgomery.

But I'm a Gulf Coast kinda guy and think Eastern Shore, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Perdido, and such, works magic for me. I make a special Eastern European cheesecake for Jimmy Buffet's Sister's restaurant on the coast. Life, here, is close, and everybody likes it that way. A very special part of Alabama.

Come visit some time, Leo. Ciao. JWE

Moving slow this morning after returning home just after midnight from 3 days of hockey tournament. Bringing home the championship banner makes it a bit less tiring!

Very proud of Alex and his team mates!

Nice Mike!

BTW, this is for the team he was "drafted" last year?

Thanks, Leo! Yep, this is the team he tried out for last June! Season started in September with practices, but this is their first tournament. They are doing well in their league games and will likely qualify for the league championship tournament next month. Then, the season ends with a 3 day tournament outside Philadelphia in March.

BTW, anyone not sure ray-ray believes in a higher being after the post game stuff last night?

OMG! It's been snowing in the UK! This must be an effect of global warming, because this is the first time in living memory that it has snowed in January. Probably, I can only assume that this is why there are bloody photos of snowy landscapes on the BBC website.

Gosh. Snow in a country in the northern hemisphere, who'd have thought it.

I've seen one fly high enough to perch on a power line. My response was "if we could get a power surge we could have both a show and fried chicken".

And then he's really regret not having them change the oil last time he was in for service. And about those loose screws.....
