Hi all, quote:
ORIGINAL: Mike Solli Who knows. My unit is scheduled to go to Kuwait this spring for a year. I was on the roster to go then the army told me I was medically non-deployable from an issue I had in 1998. I had deployed since then with no issues. I guess they changed the regulations. Anyway, I need a waiver and the unit can't request it until 30 days out from the mob which is next week. So I'll find out one way or the other in early April. It's totally beyond my control. I was already told that if I get the waiver I'm going. I'm ok either way. If I go, I'll get promoted to LTC which would rate me really stupid pay. If I don't I'll retire as a major, which is fine with me. I've wanted to retire for a while now but can't because of the deployment. If I don't go, I can retire after they leave. If I do go, I can't retire until about July 2014. Also, if I get promoted and want to retire as an LTC, I need to stay in 3 years, which would be spring 2016. I'm burned out after 25 years. Not sure I could do another 3. Mike, but LTC is LTC... Leo "Apollo11"
