Won't it take more than that, Des?

Thanks Leo... but I'm okay I've had this before and is it normally passes quickly. The main reason is that this is a teaching hospital and I have a rare form of cancer, in fact only three people in NZ have ever had it and I'm the only one currently living. Sort of makes me very popular with the medical school, and anytime they get their hands on me it's hard to get away.

Hang in there buddy.

And good morning. 19F. this morning, a record low. The weather forecasters keep saying better weather is coming. But it never happens. Our highs have been our average lows. 25 degrees off our normal highs. It was 23 October since we last saw a 50F. day. And snow showers tonight and tomorrow. Eck!

Even though our weather forecasters are inveterate liars, I believe them this week. 70F by Sunday, 76F on Monday. Spring is a nice month, or so I'm led to believe.

Getcha sandbag on, Shani. Lots of melt comin' your way in the next two weeks.

Those nurses must really be something! You can't stay away from that place.

Feel better soon, buddy!

Take care Des, I know what it is like being in a medical school hospital! For those that have never had the experience, be ready to have every one poke and prod at you as they come by. The nurses are about the only constant, and are usually very nice as they know what you are going through and have to deal with all those want-a-be docs on the other side of the patient door.

Looks interesting, if not cheerful, Martin. I'm going to have to try to find it somewhere.

I am at +50 feet over the highest flood level and next to a large detention pond! No water here! If it does get here, I will start buying gopher wood!

"Detention pond"? Is that where the bad water goes?

Detention = Hold for a while, but drain off fully in time
Retention = Hold permanently and stock with fish!
