Yay you.

Me, it's been a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time since I could do 100 of ANYTHING...

I probably could if I tried. I just don't want to I'm happy to be able to do my mandated minimum of 32 every six months along with my running and press-ups.

It's strange being off work on a Monday. I should be enjoying it more but I can't for some reason. So instead I'm playing Football Manager and drinking tea, I'm contemplating some Civ V maybe, or possibly even reinstalling Fallout New Vegas.

Maybe I could even fire up The Old Republic. I've got an itch for some Star Wars gaming and KOTOR 2 keeps crashing on Windows 7

You guys and your metric system. Why is 100 of anything so important? Why not 97? As in "My car gets 97 hogshead's to the peck. And that's the way I likes it!"

Considering that had all the abridgements, truncations, and other mayhem that has occurred on various incarnations of The Thread, you are probably nearer to 100,000.

That's the 2nd or 3rd time it's happened, that I didn't recieve the email. Once again I've got to say that we really need a "Bob type thread". In less than 6 weeks I move , will be on the road and in hotels , and almost certainly will miss emails.

Emails come and go, but the forum's almost forever.

On that note, Paris will never be the same. My daughter will be on a flight to Atlanta and then on to Paris to get there sometime tomorrow morning. Boy was that hard to do. I know she is well prepared, has the right amount of baggage and monies to have a great time, and knows the language fairly well. But, she is my oldest and will be a whole ocean away from her mother and father for ten days. Yeah, she is will a group with a very experience traveler as the leader.

Maybe I am just jousting at windmills, but damn it, I am a father and it wasn't easy.

Speaking of North Carolina cuisine-where's USS Mike?

Been on a short, but very fun trip.

My lovely bride and I had a fabulous whirlwind trip to Chicago on Friday and Saturday. Got there early on Friday morning and dumped our stuff at the hotel. Took the train into town and spent several hours looking at beautiful paintings at the Art Institute of Chicago. We probably saw about 20% of what is at the Institute and we were already in overload. Strolled around downtown and window shopped a bit, broken up by hanging out for a couple of drinks at the Riverwalk, before heading to Giradano's for some massive and delicious deep dish pizza (and more drinks). Putzed around a bit more and then hopped on the train out to United Center for dinner at the Stadium Club restaurant. We were both still so full from the pizza, but we picked over the buffet and had more drinks.

The waitress said they had a live band playing after dinner so we stuck around and checked off one of the top items on my wife's Bucket List as The Rolling Stones took the stage!

I have to say my expectations were very high, and they surpassed them by leaps and bounds! They sounded awesome and had tremendous energy, playing for almost 3 hours, and peaking with the encore. The high point for me was the first song of the encore, with a local church choir and a flugelhorn. One of my favorite songs of all time, performed to perfection, by living legends, right in front of me. I actually got quite emotional and choked up a bit.

It's true, You Can't Always Get What You Want, but if you try, sometimes, you just might find you get what you need.

It was comfortably the best concert event I've ever been to, and I've seen some damned awesome concerts! One of the very best nights that Sara and I have shared.... so far.

It was 1:30 AM when the train got us back to the hotel and we both crashed hard after a 22 hour long day. Slept in until 11 the next morning, checked out, and walked to our gate as the hotel was in the airport. More drinks with brunch and home by 6 PM. What a fabulous anniversary celebration 3 weeks after the day.

I can find them in the gourmet section of my local grocery store. Right next to the pickled herring and pigs feet.
I do miss the rocky mountain oysters when my favorite steak house closed last year.
